I was asked to make a duck in memory of a very missed and loved Nanna from her gilet as her favourite thing to draw for her granddaughter were ducks. The granddaughter called her “Nanna Pocket” so I added a pocket on the side of the duck and popped a tissue inside as Nanna never went anywhere without a tissue in her pocket.

I first started making clothes for teddy bears when I was aged 10. Many, many years later I’m still making them.

Two large and two small bears I made from a very much loved and missed Mum/Nanna’s clothes have gone home today. As the lady liked to wear a cardigan and always had a tissue in her pocket I scaled down her cardigans for the bears to wear and yes each one has a pocket with a tissue in it.

I’ve just cut out another prototype. This time it’s a duck. It’s difficult to imagine the finished article when looking at the pattern pieces but they all slot together. I had forgotten I had a duck pattern until someone asked if I could make her one.
