This is the 3rd time I've run across these needles...not sure where they're from or who manufactures them (Temu? Not sure) but they are terrible!😨 If you have any sewing machine needles by "Butterfly 70" please do yourself a favour and throw them out.
I'll attach 2 photos. All I did was change the needle from this Butterfly one to an Organ one, and the machine sewed away happily.
The Butterfly one caused broken thread, skipped stitches and birds nest all in one go! If you know how a sewing machine needle should be made, you can see that this one is not made to fit the machine properly, and looks to be manufactured backwards.
Please use quality brands such as Organ or Schmetz to prevent sewing frustrations👌

Can't quite decide if this Bernina Christmas video is cute or a bit creepy? I like the sewing machine "Bernli" but Bernina don't have a pattern for it sadly. Missing a trick there I think! I'm sure many of you have the skills to make one anyway without an official pattern 🎄🧸

I haven't used Facebook for so long I can't remember how to do anything 🫠 But I've just come across this product alert for electrical safety for some Brother machines (1999-2001)!! So want to post about it as I know many of these machines are popular. I'll add the link here and in the comment.
BTW if you have a vintage machine (pre-1980's) you should get it checked for electrical safety anyway. And if you have a real relic (1950's Singer or earlier), you really want to get it checked!! Start by checking inside the plug that it's even earthed!! ⚠️⚡️

A few Brother machines in this week, and a Jones...which is also a Brother!
🕵️I knew that Brother had acquired Jones, but having several in at once prompted me to look into the timeline.
In 2022, Brother hit 70 million machines produced since 1932!!

🙋‍♀️Did you know that you should be changing your sewing machine needle for every 6-8 hours worth of sewing?
✨Replacing your needle at the start of every new project (for example), helps to prevent broken needles, damage to your fabric, damage to your machine, missed stitches, broken thread, needle strikes, thread looping, thread nesting........
❗️Even if your needle looks ok, sewing causes needles to become blunt, bent and damaged with use.
🤔If you are having trouble with your sewing project, first thing to ask yourself, when did I last change my needle?

Sat down to do some sewing last night and was amazed by the difference an LED bulb to the brightness of my sewing area. My photos aren't very good and don't do it justice, but it really did help especially with needle threading. Also, LED bulbs don't get hot like regular bulbs 🥵

If you're interested but not sure whether your machine will take an LED bulb, pop a comment below and I'll find out for you. Most LED bulbs are universally compatible but it's best to double check, and also make sure it's bayonet or screw in💡🙂

Let's take a look inside an Elna 6004 😃
Did you know that Elna is owned by Janome these days? If you look very closely at the circuit board here, you can see "JANOME" printed! The machines are manufactured in the same factories.

This genius computerised machine can create all sorts of automatic stitches - from little penguins and ducks, to different fonts of numbers and letters. Very cool! 🐧
