Winter Heating Payments have started.

It is a reliable, automatic payment of £59.75 to help with the cost of heating your home.

We are currently processing all payments and the majority of people will be paid by the end of February 2026.

Due to the festive bank holidays, most benefit payments will be paid earlier. However, if you have not received your payment on the date expected, it will be processed as soon as possible.

Best Start Foods payments are not affected.

We’ll shortly be paying families, whose children are entitled to free school meals a payment of £26 per child for the Christmas holidays. All children in P1 to 5 currently receive the universal free school meal entitlement but the payment will only be made to those families who are in receipt of benefit. This doesn’t include children in P6-7 or S1-3 receiving free school meals based on Scottish Child Payment who will not receive this payment.

Dear Parent/Carer


FAIR ISLE PRIMARY SCHOOL - COMMUNITY SHOP


The Community Shop has been running in the school for several years, however over the past few months the number of parents coming into the shop has dropped with some days no-one attending.

Therefore, we have decided to provide items for families in a different way.

There will not always be stock in the shop, however if you require foodstuff, toiletries etc you should get in touch Mrs Bell, Mr Hutcheson, Miss Duncan or contact the school office. We will then arrange to have a parcel made up for you to collect.

At certain times of the year, we will put out what stock we have in one of the halls. Parents/carers will be invited in to help themselves on a first come basis.
