It's just the amount of comments about the solo...Have you not been listening to him since 1984? That's how he plays...He's abstract, angular, off and always on it...
He's got a certain searching that started at Bent out of Shape...listen to THAT album again and just hear the awkward of the guitar in the sh*te of those songs...It's a flavour he has.

For me the solo's he did in Smoke those few nights ago, at least the first one, one of the finest solo's I've heard him play..Genuinely..I didn't hear anything close to not getting it..the complete opposite..

Him and Lifeson..got a way with angles...that solo those few nights ago was breathtaking. Just a what a Blackmore moment...what a sound.
