Reminder to our guests today the musuem doesn’t open till 11am sharp. Traders will entering earlier to set up but the doors for attendees will be closed. It maybe warm if there is queue so please make sure you have parasols, hats and fans if you struggle with the heat!

TODAY! Join us for our GOTHIC takeover between 11am to 5pm

🕸 The event will be opened by novelist, poet and March Violet the iconic Rosie will also be performing & has a stall with merch & her glorious novels

🕸 Stroll around the FREE ALT MARKET which will web its way around the musuem from Brodrick Hall, in Denny Room, in the upper circle and some vendors will be in the exhibition spaces.

🕸 will be on the decks with guest DJs sets in Brodrick Hall

🕸 In the herbarium cafe immerse yourself in gothic recitals curated by on the GOTH PIANO There will be set and impromptu opportunities from Chopin to contemporary sonatas. will be performing spoken word at 12pm & have an acoustic set at 12.45

🕸 Victorian selfie? Release your Dorian Gray and have a portrait by in the pop up studio in the cafe.

🕸 We have two FREE TALKS in the Denny Room from on ‘Who is the real Dracula?’ at 12.30pm & ‘Evil amongst us: scapegoats, suspicion, and the folk devils of the Satanic Panic’ by at 1.30pm. Both talks are SOLD out

🕸 LIVE MUSIC in The Music Leeds Us Exhibition have curated sets between 1pm to 3pm

🕸 are hosting a guided tour of Music Leeds Us at 3pm

🕸 BRUTALIST Architecture walk? will offering two walks at 11.30am & 2.30pm.

The exceptional will be opening our event at 11.15am in Brodrick Hall for the Gothic Takeover on Saturday 23rd of May

Rosie will ALSO be performing some spoken word at the GOTH piano at 12pm and will have a stall in the Thorseby Room selling her publications & merchandise.

We feel humbled and honoured to have Rosie as part of the day 🖤💜

Dark News Flash…

Registrations of interest for our EPIC Saturday 3rd of October Alternative Market will go live on Sunday 18th of January at dusk.

We want to give people a heads up, time to prepare and some top tips to aid a successful application.

🐍 We prioritise alternative, unique and artisan traders
🐍 We have a focus on antiquity, magickal, vintage, and curio
🐍 We also like to have vendors who provide an experience based opportunity like tarot, photo booths, reiki etc
🐍During registration you will be asked to declare if you sell dropped shipped items and if & how you use AI. We expect the declaration to match your vend. For artistic integrity we have an illustrator who sits on our selection panel
🐍 We get a huge volume of artists & jewellers so these areas are very competitive
🐍 Is it clear from your socials what you sell? If we cannot tell, we cannot select!
🐍 Current, quality stock or service photos are essential
🐍 If you don’t have social media we will need photos or a link to website/seller platforms
🐍 We like to see diversity in sizes, images and price points
🐍 An outstanding stall image is a dealbreaker. Make sure this is included on your socials/photos
🐍 We offer a free vends to charity and awareness projects
🐍 We have smaller and larger vends at different price points
🐍 We like to see an active & supportive online presence which shares where you are trading & upholds other traders. This is part of our community ethos
🐍 Relevant certificates and insurances need to be in place for your trade area

We will be prompting everyone with a 24 hour countdown next Saturday. You can however sign up to the vendor mailing list which is in our bio. A direct link will be emailed to everyone who subscribes.

Applications will close on Tuesday 3rd March at 12pm
