This is a side of cancer that people don’t often see.

When I woke up from surgery, my life had changed overnight. Along with the scars, the recovery, and the uncertainty, I had to learn how to live with a stoma bag.

It wasn’t something I ever imagined I’d have to face. There were challenges, frustrations, and moments where I questioned whether life would ever feel normal again. But over time, I learned that a stoma wasn’t the end of my life—it was the reason I was still here to live it.

Living with a stoma taught me resilience, gratitude, and just how strong the human body can be. It allowed me to keep fighting, keep recovering, and keep making memories with my family.

If you’re living with a stoma, facing surgery, or supporting someone who is, know this: it doesn’t define you. It’s simply part of your story.

Today I’m sharing this video to help raise awareness, break down the stigma, and show that life after cancer surgery is still life worth living."
