Today, Cotton Baby celebrates its first birthday, and I honestly can't believe how quickly this year has gone.

What started as a dream has grown into a small UK business built with love, purpose and the incredible support of so many amazing people. Every order, every follow, every review and every kind message has helped me reach this milestone, and I couldn't be more grateful.

One year ago, Cotton Baby was just an idea... 🤍

Every collection has a story… and Rupert's Collection has certainly been a journey. 🤍

Over the past few months, I've experienced my fair share of challenges. Like many small business owners, I faced disappointment with overseas manufacturers, unexpected delays, and moments where it felt like my dream might never become reality.

But sometimes, the right path isn't the quickest one.

After searching for the right partner, I'm incredibly grateful to have found someone here in the UK who shares my passion for quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Knowing that Rupert's Collection is being brought to life closer to home gives me so much confidence in what I'm creating.

Rather than rushing to launch, I've chosen to take my time, refine every detail and make sure each piece is something I'd be proud to dress my own child in.

That's also why I'll be opening pre-orders before production begins. This approach allows me to produce more responsibly, reduce unnecessary waste and focus on quality over quantity, rather than overproducing stock.

Rupert's Collection is more than my first original clothing collection. It's a collection created with purpose, inspired by Rupert, designed with love, and created to support his family while bringing beautifully crafted cotton clothing to yours.

To everyone who has supported Cotton Baby so far—whether you've placed an order, shared a post, left a kind comment or simply followed my journey—thank you. Every bit of support has helped me keep going, even when things didn't go to plan.

I've just received the first sample of a new dress for my small Leicester-based children's clothing brand, Cotton Baby, and I'm looking for a girl who wears age 3–4 years to help me check that the sizing and fit are just right before I move into production.

It would only take around 10–15 minutes, and all I need is to see how the dress fits. Your feedback will help me make any adjustments before the final version is made.

POV: Apparently, having a full-time job means you're supposed to stop dreaming. 😅

Almost every month someone asks me:

"Why do you do it?"

"Why don't you just quit?"

"You've got a good job. You're only losing your time, money and energy."

"Why work all day and then spend your evenings on a business?"

To be honest... I don't even get offended anymore.

Because to me, this has never been just another business.
I do it because I love it.

I believe every child deserves clothing that's soft, comfortable and thoughtfully chosen—not just another fast fashion outfit.

I might not show up on social media every single day, but behind the scenes I'm always working. Most evenings you'll find me researching safer fabrics, learning new skills, writing free educational blogs for new and expecting parents, or planning how to make Cotton Baby better for families.

I also do this because I believe a business should give something back.

That's why Cotton Baby is proud to be an official charity partner of When You Wish Upon a Star, and £1 from every order is donated to help create magical memories for children living with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
And soon, one of my biggest dreams will become reality...

🤔 **Quick question...**

Does anyone else think small business owners have a secret team behind the scenes? 😂

Because I promise you... it's usually just one person wearing about 27 different hats. 👒📦📱

I'm often told, *"You should show yourself more on social media."* And you're absolutely right.

The truth is... after a **9-hour shift at my full-time job**, the last thing I want is to point a camera at my tired face. 😅

So instead, I show you what I love most... the beautiful baby clothes I'm so proud to bring to families across the UK. 💛

Running a small business means packing orders, replying to messages, updating the website, creating videos, taking photos, answering emails... and then somehow finding time to write captions like this! (If this one actually makes sense, today is a good day. 😂)

Will I show myself more in the future? Definitely.

But for now, I'm doing my best, just like so many other small business owners who are juggling work, family and chasing a dream.
