Check out this design by a 7 year old young designer based on her favourite song. I love that she also sent me a detailed sketch of how she wanted the bear to look which I projected onto the fabric so I could paint on her exact design, which is now appliquéd center stage. She chose a slouchy, dropped shoulder t-shirt style which suits her design perfectly.

✨ Projectors for sewing ✨ My second hand UST projector has been a complete game changer in my sewing life. No more tracing and cutting out patterns, and no need for paper at all. I can switch pattern sizes at the press of a button and am skilling up in making pattern alterations digitally too. Basically I could talk about it all day....

But here's another amazing use for my projector I've been utilising for my Design Your Own makes. Here I have projected this gorgeous child's drawing onto fabric so I can hand paint on their exact design. This one will be cut out and appliquéd on to the t-shirt. Can't wait to show you the finished piece!

Wow - what a design!

I love all the details in it, and picked out the key features to include in the handmade garment. The young designer had chosen a metallic pen for the gold sleeves and stripes, so I managed to source a preloved gold top to use for those features which provided the shiny edge needed. I love how the fabric strips add texture to the stripes in the design.

Super Plumber Barbie!

The tiniest dungarees I've ever made, and Barbie is ready to take on those bad guys / a plumbing emergency. Satisfying to use those tiny fabric scraps up too 😁

A make I've really enjoyed this week has been another dropped shoulder sweatshirt, but this tiny one is in a size 12-18 months. It's the most satisfying way to use smaller pieces of fabric to avoid them going to waste, and I think it looks gorgeous with this shop bought pinafore dress.

I'm still busy behind the scenes getting ready to share my new ideas with you, but this week I managed to fit in an upcycle and I'm keeping hold of this one.

My little boy's tiger sweatshirt was a charity shop find and one of my favourite things on him, so when he outgrew it I knew I wanted to turn it into something to keep. I love how this relaxed fitting cropped sweatshirt turned out.

The only problem is, when my son saw it, he asked for one exactly the same for him. I only have the sleeves of the original sweatshirt left, do you think its possible??
