NHS patients are most welcome and receive the same attention and great service as private patients would expect to receive. We have a dedicated contact lens optician in the practice, who can fit virtually any type of lens to any type of patient. All our glasses come fully custom fitted to ensure your comfort. No slipping, no pinching, no ‘wonky-donkey-Jeremy-Corbin-spex! We have a great range of glasses for children and teens too, some of which are FREE with an NHS voucher. We also offer a home visit eye examination service, including choosing and fitting of spectacles or other optical devices, for those folks who are unable to leave the house. The summer holidays are the perfect time to book your child’s eye test. Without the rush of the school term, it’s a great opportunity to make sure their vision is ready for the new school year.

Good vision plays a huge role in a child’s learning, development and confidence, but children don’t always realise they’re having problems with their eyesight.

Regular eye tests can help identify issues early, often before they begin to affect school, reading or everyday activities.

One of the biggest myths we hear is that wearing glasses makes your eyesight worse.

Actually, glasses don’t weaken your eyes. They simply correct your vision so you can see clearly and comfortably. If your prescription changes over time it’s because your eyes have changed naturally, not because you’ve been wearing glasses.

There are plenty of myths surrounding eye health which is why regular eye examinations are so important. They’re not just about checking whether you need glasses, they’re about monitoring the overall health of your eyes too.
