🇫🇷 A little piece of authentic France…

These beautiful vintage French shutter dogs, also known as Belgian Lady Heads, were discovered at a traditional French brocante in rural France.

Originally designed to hold open shutters on French farmhouses, they combine practical craftsmanship with timeless character. Today they’re highly sought after for restoring period properties or adding authentic French country style to homes and gardens.

It’s these original architectural details that give old French homes their unmistakable charm—and I love bringing pieces like this back to the UK to find new homes.

Would you use them on a restoration project or simply display them as decorative pieces?

🔥 A rare find from a French brocante… 🇫🇷🧡

Not all vintage Le Creuset pots are the same…

This beautiful 1.5L French bean pot dates from around the 1960s–1970s, but what makes it especially unusual is its rare blue-grey enamel interior rather than the more commonly seen cream finish.

Still proudly carrying its original Le Creuset maker’s mark, it’s a wonderful piece of French kitchen history that has survived decades of use with plenty more left to give.

Whether you’re a collector, love cooking with vintage cast iron, or simply appreciate timeless French design, this is one of those pieces that doesn’t come along very often.

Found, as always, at a traditional brocante market in France. 🇫🇷

From conflict came craftsmanship.

These remarkable WW1 German trench art brass vases began life as shell cases on the battlefields of the Somme before being transformed by hand into beautiful decorative pieces over 100 years ago.

Every mark tells a story. Every piece reflects extraordinary skill, resilience and a desire to create something lasting from the aftermath of war. Today, they stand not only as rare military antiques but as powerful reminders of history and human craftsmanship.

I was fortunate to discover this authentic pair during one of my French buying trips, and they remain one of the most fascinating pieces I’ve sourced.

Which detail caught your eye first—the polished brass, the history behind them, or the striking poppies? Let me know below.
