⭐️ Some clothes hold more memories than others… ⭐️

These beautiful keepsake stars have been made from a collection of precious babygrows, along with something particularly special — the hospital gown this little girl wore when she was in hospital. 🥹💗

Clothing can hold memories of so many different moments in our children’s lives. The happy everyday ones, the tiny baby days, and sometimes the much bigger moments that we never want to forget.

Now, instead of those pieces being tucked away in a box, they’ve been transformed into keepsake stars that can be displayed and treasured for years to come. ⭐️

I feel incredibly privileged when I’m trusted with clothing that carries such an important story. ❤️

✨ Come and sew a length of keepsake bunting with me! 🧵💛

All of the flags have already been carefully cut and prepared, so now comes one of my favourite parts… stitching them onto the binding and watching a beautiful piece of keepsake bunting come to life.

Each flag tells part of a family’s story, turning treasured baby clothes into something that can be displayed and enjoyed for years to come. 🥹

✨ A little reintroduction… because it’s been a while! ✨

Hi, I’m Kirsty – the face behind Handmade by Kirsty Louise. 👋

For anyone who’s new here (and for those who’ve been following for years!), I thought I’d properly introduce myself.

🧵 I have a degree in Fashion and Textiles, so working with fabric has always been a huge part of my life. Creativity definitely runs in the family too – past generations of my mums family were talented seamstresses who worked in Edinburgh, so I like to think I inherited a little of their skill and passion.

🧸 I’ve now been creating memory keepsakes for over eight years, turning precious baby clothes, school uniforms and sentimental clothing into keepsakes that can be treasured forever. It’s such a privilege to play a small part in preserving so many special memories.

🌍 My keepsakes have travelled all over the UK and across the world, and it still amazes me every time I pack an order destined for somewhere new.

📍I’m originally from Medway in Kent, and although my home studio is now based in beautiful Lincolnshire, I still spend lots of time back in Kent with family and friends.

✈️ Outside of the studio, I’m happiest planning my next holiday, discovering new places to explore… and if there’s a bag of Haribo nearby, there’s a very good chance I’ll be eating it! 🍬😂

✨ I absolutely love it when I can include babygrows that celebrate siblings. 💕

This “Little Sister” babygrow has worked perfectly alongside the beautiful florals and stripes, making this keepsake even more personal and full of special memories. 🌸🩷

It’s those little details that make every keepsake completely unique to the family it belongs to.

Sometimes one keepsake just isn’t enough. 🤍

For these beautiful cushion covers, I was sent a whole bundle of special clothes so I could spread the memories across both cushions.

Every piece of fabric tells part of a story – favourite outfits, tiny babygrows, special prints and little details that deserve to be treasured rather than tucked away in a box.

I love finding the perfect way to showcase as many of those memories as possible, creating keepsakes that can be enjoyed every day.

💛 It’s more than just baby clothes… 💛

One day they’re your baby’s favourite outfits.

Before you know it, they’ve outgrown them, and they’re folded away in a drawer because they’re simply too special to part with.

From treasured clothing to a keepsake that can be loved and displayed every day, while keeping all of those precious memories close.

I always spend time carefully choosing where each piece of fabric goes, preserving as many special details as possible so every keepsake is completely unique to the family it belongs to.

From my little studio in Lincolnshire all the way to America… this beautiful keepsake quilt and matching cushion have arrived safely! 🇬🇧➡️🇺🇸💛

Every square of this quilt and every detail on the cushion was carefully handmade using clothing filled with precious memories. Instead of being tucked away in a box or wardrobe, those special outfits can now be seen, cuddled and treasured every single day.

It still amazes me that something created in my studio gets to become part of a family’s home on the other side of the world. Thank you for trusting me with something so sentimental. It really is the greatest privilege.
