Charity shops all over this country have rummage baskets like this… mountains of damaged or poor quality clothing, or just stock that has been sitting unsold for too long.
This is the last port of call for many donations… if they don’t sell from here, they will often go to landfill or to be burnt.
These clothes in a lot of cases aren’t wearable but the textiles are still usable and this is where we find some of our most interesting fabrics to be repurposed.
Once we source these textiles, we sort, wash and sanitise them ready to be turned into something beautiful by everyone in our workshops.
