Speed and comfort don’t usually go together, but have managed to crack the code for lightweight high-performance trail shoes that feel every bit as good as they look.

Combining the same kind of roomy, wide toe-box you’d find on funky 1960s European orthapedic shoes (think Birkenstock, Jacoform or Kalso Earth Shoes) with chunky Vibram lugs and that unique zero-drop design, they’re maybe best described as ‘high-speed comfort shoes’.

Lace a pair up and run down your local footpaths for a few hours and you’ll know what we mean.

Handmade in the small Italian town of Onè di Fonte, the Diemme Movida combines Italy’s strong hiking footwear heritage with a modern approach shape to make a supremely luxurious all-terrain shoe.

While the word ‘artisanal’ definitively applies here—with a serious amount of care and attention going into each pair—it’s important to note that they’re not just swanky showroom pieces. Thanks to those vulcanised rubber toecaps and reassuringly sturdy Vibram RGS lugged outsoles, they’re every bit at home scrambling in the mountains as they are wandering around picturesque villages looking for home-made ravioli.

Originally devised in a barn in the Pacific Northwest back in 2018, make ingenious ultralight sunglasses that stay true to their mantra of ‘Won’t Break, Won’t Fall Off’.

What really sets them apart is that drawcord strap system—doing away with arms entirely for a secure, stable fit. Not only does this mean they stay firmly fixed to your head when you’re careening through the undergrowth, but the temple-less design means there are less pesky moving parts to break too.

Once you try them on, they make a lot of sense—and if you’re tired of breaking (or losing) your glasses while hiking, running, canoeing or bungee jumping, you’re going to appreciate these.
