Starting out with Cloth Nappies - antenatal workshops funded by MRWA

Curious about using cloth nappies from day one? This relaxed, antenatal workshop walks you through how cloth nappies work, how to wash them, what you actually need and what the library can provide. You can also practice changing and fitting them on a baby doll while you have us here for feedback and support.

You will also get priority for nappy kit bookings if you’ve attended a workshop first.

Funded by MRWA, our sessions focus on finding simple, low‑waste routines that fit real family life. We’ll cover washing, drying, costs, and where to find support, so you can choose what works best for your baby and the planet. 🌍

This is no April Fool's! Just a first of the month reminder to clean your machine!

Your machine may have a cleaning programme that reminds you already, but if it doesn’t, you should try and clean your machine regularly - our monthly reminders can help!

Luckily, cleaning a washing machine is not too hard. Just set it on a hot, empty wash with no detergent and off you go! If you have a little bit of time, you can wipe down the seals and the detergent drawer, and if you’re feeling extravagant you could even clean out the filter!

Happy European Babywearing Week 2025!!!

Let’s celebrate with a lovely sunny Sling Walk and Picnic in Calderstones park.
Thursday 8th May 10:30am meeting at the front of Mansion House.

Then we will settle for our picnic around 11:30 (ish) near the play park.

EVERYONE is welcome, you may still carry babies, you may be new to slings and carrier’s, you may no longer have kids young enough to babywear! You may just be an amazing supporter or friend of ours?
Old customer, new customer, never been a customer?
Whoever you are we’d love your company.

Picture is me and my youngest little Robin who is now 2 so you can easily recognise and us.

Also some fab bargains coming this week to raise some funds for the library and move on old stock so watch this space.

Are you pregnant and considering using washable nappies? Antenatal Cloth Nappy Workshops are a fully funded collaboration between and to help you find out more about getting started with reusable nappies when your baby arrives.

We’ll take a look at the different styles and materials available, practice getting a good fit (on baby dolls) and talk about washing and drying routines. You can take a look at what’s in our Newborn Nappy Kits and reserve one if you’d like to.

You’ll be able to have a play with one of our Newborn Nappy hire kits, look at different types of cloth nappies and how to use them and chat about any questions you have whether it’s how to even change a nappy in the first place? Why do new parents talk about poo this much?! Or How to wash and dry your nappies?
