First and foremost, the first thought of Arne Slot is one of thanks. A thanks for winning number 20, an achievement that will hold him in place amongst the legends of this club. A thanks for giving us one of the best moments of our lives and a month of nothing but happy memories.
I’ve been up and down, in and out and changed mood on a weekly basis, but I do believe it’s the right decision for both parties. Slot just never had the level of connection that we need as fans, and his football wasn’t easy on the eye, which is another thing we crave as Liverpool fans, boss, exciting football.
I feel like if it was a boxing fight, he had 4 rounds left to prove himself though. Absolutely smashed the first 4, got battered the next 4 and had 4 to go (Til December).
He has been dealt a horrible hand this season. The loss of Jota and the effect that had on every single member of staff. The players couldn’t get up, and he couldn’t pick them up, but there’s only a handful of people on the planet capable of managing situations like that. The injuries to massive signings and key players has been soul destroying. The lack of depth he had been left with was a massive issue and one he wasn’t able to manage.
But all in all, the football, the lack of identity and the shift in standards has been all too much and cost him his job, but he should be leaving with a thanks from fans. And had the club had this decision lined up, it’s an absolute c***s trick to not make us aware so we could give him the farewell he’d have deserved for his achievement last season.
Iraola the name being linked, can’t say it overly excites me, and I do think it’s a bit ot a risk, but he plays the football we crave and he set standards at Bournemouth and improved them. Can he hack the pressure of Liverpool, we’ll see.
A new dawn, a fresh start and hopefully a busy summer and we can all feel a bit more positive going into the new season.
Every little thing is gona be alright, nice one Arne 👏🏼
