🌸 ia, ia... ROMANia. Happy birthday ❤️

Every year, on 24th June, Romanians all over the world, celebrate the Universal Day of Romanian blouse - ia. Also known as ie, this is our traditional blouse and also a part of our traditional costume. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Handcrafted by talented women, ia is made out of cotton, h**p, silk, or gossamer. You can find different symbols and patterns depending on the region. In the ancient folklore, the elders used to believe clothes will protect us, hence the magical features given to every garment. Do you need more reasons to visit Romania and step on a mystical land?⁣⁣ 🧛‍♂️

I took my blouse for a walk today since we have 3 days of a heatwave in the UK. I could not wake up at 5 am to catch the golden hour, so here am now posting late. While England is our home, for now, I always say Romania is home, home and I miss it so much.⁣

I have been absent from social media and my blog for a while now. I felt uninspired and ordinary, constantly believing I can’t make a difference. Somehow though, I kept returning for travel and photography, fashion (vintage, street style, sustainability) and much more.It’s totally ok to hit that pause button.
