Another personalised item I made for a customer. I have to admit that personalised orders are really quite fun to make. They sort of break up the week a bit for me.

This is a saddle case for a Wi******er rifle. Sorry if I’m using the wrong term for it, but they are not a very common thing to see in Scotland.

Remember this rig I posted an image of a couple of weeks ago? I asked if anyone knew whose rig this is a copy of.

Hands up who said Bob Dalton.

The Joshua tree design was apparently quite popular on holsters at the time, but this one, so my customer has told me, was worn by Bob Dalton himself.

I put the original makers mark (44), as a nod to the craftsman who made the original all those years ago. It’s not an exact copy, of course, but I try to keep my copies of these old rigs close to original.

After about 10 years of making leather western belts, I’ve collected a few “oops’s”. You know, customer making a wee size error, a change of order, or even me having a “senior moment”

To answer a query I received this morning, some of the off the shelf items will be random belts and holsters that I’ve made over the years, but the customer has maybe changed the order, or got the sizes wrong (or even perhaps I’ve made a booboo).

You can tell I’ve been spring cleaning, and finally got to the back of my workshop cupboard.🤠
