This is a very different project, a faux leather backpack that I created the pattern for. It’s fully lined with a contrasting fabric which I also used to create piping around the pockets. Despite its simple design, faux leather can be quite hard to work with, as pinning it leaves permanent marks, so I had to get creative when sewing on the front pocket!

Take a look at a very technical previous project that I worked on. I used a commercial pattern that I altered to create this showjumping jacket using a thick jersey fabric that I had to use a special needle and machine foot to sew. I used a lot of different techniques such as appliqué, hand embroidery, and piping which you can see in the pictures below.

Hi everyone, welcome to my new business page! I take commissions for repair and alteration work on garments, soft furnishings, and other textile products. I developed my talent in both design and practical work at GCSE, achieving an A* grade. I've continued to gain experience since, working on many projects making, repairing and altering garments, bags and soft furnishings for both myself, and friends and family.
