I was spoilt rotten yesterday, and as an early birthday treat taken on a day trip to Goodwood Art Foundation (newly launched just last year)
Nestled between the South Downs and the coast, it’s a 70 acre idyl, populated with sculpture and gallery spaces. Nestled among cherry groves, woodland, wildflower meadows and even a chalk quarry were pieces by yayoi kusama , Lee Ufan, Rachel Whiteread to name just a few.
My standout favourite was also a discovery for me, the completely delightful and joyful work of evarothschild as well as a magical ‘singing trees’ installation in the woodland.
I really recommend a visit. It’s a great place to support too, as at the heart of the foundation is a learning programme that delivers hands-on art making experiences for primary, secondary and special schools
