Cottagecore softened the way we looked at romance in fashion, it was pastoral, quiet and nostalgic.

But ever since watching Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ 6 months ago, I’ve been noticing a shift across other film, runway, and cultural references. There’s something more emotional and atmospheric. Less literal historical reference (which 10 years ago would have been the worst thing you could do in a period-drama!) and more interpretation through texture, silhouette, and mood.

Neo-Romanticism isn’t about recreating the past literally, it’s about using historical language to express mood and emotion.

We see it in screen costume, in the AW26 runway collections (and SS26!), and even in ‘Pinterest Predicts 2026’ where ornament, symbolism, and a darker, romantic aesthetic looks to be returning.

🌟Are we entering a Neo-Romantic era?

What are you noticing in fashion right now?

I recently went to the zoo with my toddler and my husband and found myself drifting off thinking about fashion prints...

Cheetah, leopard, jaguar...they've all somehow fallen under the umbrella of 'animal print'.

I definitely remember a time when 'leopard print' was really common but now everything just gets labelled as 'animal print'... but it feels so broad?

Why don't we have the same level of specificity for print, as we do for colour? It can't be an SEO thing because I doubt people are searching for 'cherry red'?

Maybe I am just overthinking, or do you agree? 🤓😂

One year postpartum, where I was a little less sleep deprived, a friend recommended me to and we had a discovery call about starting an athleisure brand.

〰️There were some rough name ideas but that was all, and the conversation ended up being nothing like how my usual discovery calls went! We spoke about teething (which I *really* needed advice about at the time😂) breastfeeding (also needed help!), and motherhood before we got into business talk.

〰️From there, I helped shape Kerlora from concept and positioning to design and development.

〰️Athleisure is something I’ve always wanted to get my teeth stuck into, not just bits here and there which I did throughout my career, so this project was a dream. The fashion (design) industry can be quick to pigeonhole you, if you design dresses, then that is all you are capable of so being able to take this from idea to having launch-ready product was a huge achievement for me.

〰️The first collection launched in November 2025, and the next collection I designed is launching this week.

〰️Here’s a look at some of my favourite pieces, from initial sketches to campaign.

〰️Huge credit to everyone involved in bringing the campaign to life:

As the year draws to a close, I've been reflecting on some of the work I'm most proud of...talking at which felt full-circle.

From being a University of Westminster student myself, to mentoring since 2016, to standing in front of a room of students from backgrounds that mirror my own: first-generation, under-represented, figuring it out as they go.
I was asked to talk about my career, freelancing, fashion, and what working life really looks like. What we actually talked about was pressure, imposter syndrome, money, independence, and learning to stay grounded in an industry that can be demanding and overwhelming.

Returning to speak in person after doing my first WWC session on Zoom in 2021 and after stepping away from professional spaces while caring for my baby felt daunting, but I really wanted to challenge myself.
If sharing the honest parts of my journey helps answer some questions, it’s always worth it.

🌟Thank you to the Westminster Working Cultures team and the students who showed up with such openness and great questions!
And yes! The Fortnum & Mason tea is now a pen pot. ☕✏️

✨ 'Showgirl' is everywhere right now, and here’s how I spot the trend before it hits your wardrobe. ✨

After a nearly 2-year break from mentoring at the University of Westminster (pregnancy and having a baby), I recently reached out to confirm I’m ready to take another student under my wing for 6 months. Thinking back on previous mentees, one question always came up: How do you spot fashion trends?

Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl album and Pamela Anderson’s new film The Last Showgirl (directed by Gia Coppola) were perfect examples to show how trends ripple through pop culture (and emerging) and how I use them to curate moodboards.

Swipe through to see my process in a nutshell: researching, moodboarding, and tracking a trend!

One of my favourite lessons at the University of Westminster while I was studying fashion design was fashion history! I also actually really enjoyed having to write my dissertation (maybe I will share it here one-day!), intensively researching and coming across amazing sources.

When I spotted this key trend coming through on the AW25 runway shows, I couldn't help but take a deep-dive into where it all began.

From early bankers to Yves Saint Laurent's 'Le Smoking' through to pop culture.

Swipe through to see how it unfolds and let me know which pinstripe look is your favourite?

I do also look forward to seeing how this trend is translated into mainstream fashion for AW25 🤓
