ODE is thrilled to be joining Give A Child A Brighter Future for their magical summer Bazar today, Sunday 26th of April at the Columbia Hotel in London!
This charity sale is raising vital funds for children’s urgent medical needs at an incredibly critical moment for Lebanon. In the last months alone the charity’s operations have adjusted drastically to provide emergency operations and heartbreakingly, increasing life saving prosthetic operations for children who were targeted in the recent bombardment of Lebanon.
It means so much to be able to support the Give a Child a Brighter Future charity as well as my dear friend Talissa El Khoury who inherited and so impressively took up the reigns of the charity her mother started with a group of Lebanese mothers during the Lebanese Civil War.
It is impressive to see their incredible work and achievements, whilst I also feel equally heartbroken that the urgent need for the charity’s critical medical aid for war wounded children has not diminished. Rather the opposite.
The beautiful crafts, divine delicacies and stunning hand made garments that you will discover and have the chance to purchase will all help the their phenomenal work whilst also inspiring and honouring Lebanons joyous and unstoppable creative power.
I will be selling our beautiful hand embroidered summer linens, all reworked with hand embroidery by the talented Fatma Khalifa and her team of women embroiderers from Jana studio in southern Beirut. These women who already were creating these treasures under the toughest, precarious circumstances and refugee statuses have suffered hugely in the recent war and have stoped being able to find the space and the calm to continue their work.
The sales of these pieces will go directly to GCBF and to Fatma to support her daily life and her daughter’s school fees until the day we pray for and hope she finds the strength and the peace to continue her craft.
We are looking forward to welcoming you with open arms at a very special sale between 11am and 4pm at the Columbia Hotel, Lancaster Gate.
