There is a particular kind of grace in making room for someone and sadly women don’t always do it for each other, it still surprises me. 

We talk a lot about ambition, about women supporting women however it’s not uncommon to quietly run each other down.

Luckily -  my experience of building a business has been mixed and I am grateful to the women who have looked out for opportunities for me, have given advice, encouragement and have asked how I am doing - and have really meant it.

Proper napkins might not make the food taste better or the conversation more interesting, but they make people feel that you have made an effort and sometimes the small details leave a big impression.
