Another personal post from me because that’s about all I can muster right now. Since The Baby Show at ExCel there’s been quite a lot going on personally and professionally and a lot of which has been quite challenging including Raffa getting tonsillitis 😢 so I just haven’t had the headspace to show up here regularly.

However, I said in my previous post that I wanted to share some of my lessons / thoughts from March so here they are. Have you had any similar thoughts, please do share in the comments I’d love to read them šŸ’

Having said all that I do feel like I’m slowly but surely getting my ā€œpink backā€ (fitting for the first photo!) and learning how to be Me and a Mamma and I’m loving it. 🄰 I’ve suprised myself at how you can be so unbelievably exhausted and so frustrated about being exhausted but yet still have so much patience… I’ve never been this patient in my life!

I’m not sure if there’s a more perfect photo to sum up my life in March and explain to you why I haven’t posted for most of the month!

Today I got poo, wee and sick on me… what a hat-trick!

There’s been a fair few lessons / thoughts in March which I will share in a separate post but a big one has been about the Baby Shows.

Since Raffael was born, I’ve done two baby shows—one with him and one without him—and I can honestly say it’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Juggling a 7-month-old while preparing, setting up, and running the stand for a full weekend is exhausting. By the time I get to the part I love most—chatting with Mammas—I feel like I have nothing left to give. And after 7 months of not a single full night sleep, it’s tough to find the energy to be my most enthusiastic self. But despite the exhaustion, meeting you and hearing how my brand has helped on your motherhood journey makes it all worth it!

That said, for now, I think I’m going to take a break from doing the shows. With limited time, they’re incredibly demanding and taking too much focus away from the rest of the business. Hopefully, I’ll be back at them in the future, but for now, I’m focusing on growing the brand in other ways!

Here’s some other things that have made the juggle even harder this month and explain why I’ve been MIA for most of March:

šŸ’« Wedding planning - there’s nothing quite like doing all big life events in the same year is there?!
šŸ’« Going back to coaching some regular classes each week at the gym
šŸ’« Raffa is on the MOVE… I thought I’d have a bit longer
šŸ’« My own training - this is important as I when I prioritise this I feel like I have so much more energy to be a better Mamma for Raffa and to work on the business
šŸ’« We started weaning this month too, it was going ok but after a run of illness and teething its taken a bit of a back seat

Ohh and did I forget to say we relocating at the end of the year!

As I’m nearing the end of my own breastfeeding journey (sadly a lot sooner than expected) I wanted to share these beautiful moments of the Mamma’s in my antenatal group who kindly agreed to do a content shoot with me.

I was not prepared for how incredibly beautiful and hard in equal measures breastfeeding is. The connection you feel to your little one is indescribable. The feeling of love cursing through your body when you look down at them being so content getting everything they need and more from you. The way they stop mid feed to smile at you and then carry straight back on feeding melts your heart like something I’ve never experienced before. The worry of being their sole source of nutrition and unsure if they’re getting enough or gaining weight as they should be.

I will miss all of it but one things for sure, I’m so glad I had the right wardrobe to support me on this journey, and I’ve loved experiencing first hand how my pieces can help make your life as a Mamma just that little bit easier.

I would absolutely LOVE to see photos of all you Mamma’s nursing your little babes in your Alessandra Reli pieces, please feel free to share them with me and as a thank you you’ll recieve a Ā£25 gift card in return.

P.S. Can you tell I’m feeling nostalgic? I’ll share a bit more about my breastfeeding journey on stories.

Can you believe this was real?

I had fun researching this one... the evolution of maternity fashion.

We all know maternity fashion has been letting Mamma’s down for years but I didn’t quite realise it was, at times even leading to health complications.

From corsets to frumpy dresses and even being told to hide away, we had a long way to go and although things have got considerably better we still feel there is a long way to go and we’re here to help!

I know from personal experience it is so much harder than I ever could have expected and I have so much respect for everyone feeding their babe in the best way they can. Whether that’s breastfeeding for an hour, a year or not at all, feeding your baby and all the worry’s and second guessing that comes with it is one of the hardest things I’ve experienced since becoming a Mamma, which is exactly why we’ve created the most versatile and easy pieces of clothing to support you during that journey.
