For this project you can use wool/cotton/acrylic in Aran/Worsted weight yarn with a 5mm hook. I would recommend Tweedy Sheep 100% wool yarn from

Size L: 175g 2.5 skeins of Lana Gato Maxi Soft (about 125g, 250 yards) and 2 skeins of Gepards Kid Seta 50g each / 7 hours
