12-year old Isaiah Elliott, a seventh grader in Colorado Springs, received a 5 day suspension from school after a teacher saw him pick up a neon green “Zombie Hunter” toy gun, moving it from one side of the screen to another.

The teacher claims that Isaiah was “waving” a toy gun during the virtual class and reported it to Grand Mountain School Vice Principal Keri Lindaman. Lindaman then called school resource officers from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office to conduct a health and wellness check on Isaiah at the family's home. His suspension resulted in a permanent mark on his school disciplinary record for bringing a “fascimile of a firearm to school” and a criminal record with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Isaiah’s parents have since decided to pull Isaiah out of the school and he is currently on the waitlist for a charter school.

Keri Lindaman, you owe Isaiah an apology.
