We do art too.

Blunt Strokes is intensely human - a way to connect brain with hands so it feels a bit more like being a person. Abstract calligraphic ink-on-cotton paper paintings, carved firewood, handpainted accessories (baseball caps, handkerchiefs, tote bags) and Blunt Strokes logo tees. Every piece is entirely freestyled - each swoosh decided in the moment. Sometimes it’s beautiful and restraint gets exercised; sometimes it’s a bit ugly or unsatisfying, but the stroke keeps moving because the next one might bring harmony to the whole thing.

You’ll also spot Asha handiwork around the Sustainable Fashion Week space - she’s the artist behind our shop signs 👀🔥

Two more brands joining the hub next weekend 💃🏽

Maria Goundry is a London-based fashion designer creating bold, experimental clothing through print, textile manipulation and unconventional construction. Sustainability sits at the core of her practice - deadstock, second-hand and upcycled materials shaped into maximalist, one-of-a-kind pieces, all handcrafted. Sustainable Fashion Week, Maria Goundry is introducing ANOTHER 01, the first edition of an ongoing upcycled collection series - transforming second-hand clothing alongside remnants from her graduate collection, DISSOCIATED, and materials gathered during her time at Central Saint Martins, giving existing garments, fabrics and fragments another life.

Offcuts by Sanah turns niche upcycling into q***r-inspired fashion and weird art - think rave wear, q***r fashion and soft k!nkwear. It’s all about expression and sustainability, being your best weird self while keeping clothes out of landfill. Every piece is in its second life as something new, wonderful and totally unique.

More brands landing at the Sustainable Fashion Week hub this week 💃🏽

NINA-SOFIA is an independent upcycle fashion label founded in 2018, named after founder Lauren’s twin daughters. Born during a period of personal reinvention, it’s grown from handmade accessories into upcycled fashion pieces - blending pre-loved clothing and unexpected materials into distinctive, one-off designs. Drawing on Lauren’s experience in the UK fashion industry, NINA-SOFIA fuses street style, sportswear and creative tailoring, proving fashion with a past can still feel entirely new.

REUSE ME is an eclectic mix of sport, merch and vintage, with a love of bold patterns and colours. Everything is handmade, reused, reworked and repurposed - thrifted finds reimagined as something new, one-off pieces you won’t find twice.

🧵 NINA-SOFIA - Sat 26th Sept & Sat 3rd Oct
🧵 Reuse Me - Sunday 27th September

Hosted by Lena, a qualified therapist and hypnotherapist who blends guided meditation, breathwork and gentle relaxation techniques into a warm, welcoming space to reset.

Got a piece hiding at the back of your wardrobe you never quite know how to wear? Bring it.

Bees Knees joins the Sustainable Fashion Week Islington Hub for a live styling masterclass. Bee is known for one-of-a-kind pieces from recycled, vintage and pre-loved materials - and this session is about doing the same with what’s already in your wardrobe. She’ll rework your item live with you and the group, then open into a talk and Q&A covering sustainability in styling, finding your own look, and working with colour.

It builds backwards from the one piece you bring, to help you understand what actually works for your personal style, not just that item. Walk away with a piece you love again, and a new way of thinking about your wardrobe.

📍 540 Kingsland Road
🗓️ Thursday 1st October 6:00–7:30pm
🧵 Bring: one clothing item you struggle to style
✨ All levels, no experience needed
