Looking back, I realize I spent years in growth modeāalways growing, but not intentionally. Growth can be slow or fast, depending on the change you want.
Then I stumbled upon Atomic Habits and Limitless, and they completely shifted my perspective. They helped me understand how to actually changeāhow to become the future version of myself, rather than just wishing for it.
Before that, posts like this used to trigger me. I didnāt have the tools to understand how to change, and I felt stuck in a loop of failureāespecially when it came to my mindset, body, and habits. Self-awareness was new to me, but those books taught me to start by simply observing myself.
What was I doing every day?Where was I wasting time? How was I limiting or sabotaging myself?
I had to face the uncomfortable reality of who I was in that momentāmy thoughts, my behaviors, my routines. And from there, I built a list of the things blocking me from my goals.
The biggest realization? I wasnāt clear on my deeper WHY.
Both books emphasize that real, lasting change isnāt just about surface-level goals.
Itās not:š° āI want Ā£1M to be rich.ā
Itās: āI want Ā£1M so I can fly my family around the world and create lifelong memories.ā
Itās not:āļø āI want to lose 10kg to fit into jeans.ā
Itās: āI want to lose 10kg because my body is under strain, and I want to be active and healthy for my kidsāto lead by example and build strong habits for them, too.ā
Your WHY is what keeps you on track. Itās what helps you stay disciplined when motivation fades. This was a game-changer for me.
Small changes lead to big resultsābut when I lost sight of my WHY, I lost my habits too.
So, write down your WHYs. Post them where youāll see them every day. Let them remind you of the bigger picture and keep you moving forward. šāØ
Whatās your WHY? Drop it in the comments! š
