As I’ve aged my palette has also changed.
I definitely prefer colours that soften the lines (😅). I still love black but have found that I need deeper golden auburn colours in my hair rather than the ash blonde highlights I used to have to avoid having all the colour drained from my face.
I’ve also noticed a change from silver/white gold accessories to rose/gold especially in winter.
I picked up some wonderful tips on what colours work for me and how to create my colour palette during my styling course.
I’ll be sharing a new blog post on how you can find and create your colour palette. And, hopefully help with building a capsule closet full of conscious choices in the future.

Create a colour palette for your style.
Being conscious of your colour likes and dislikes whether it’s all colours of the rainbow or monochrome neutrals will help you purchase wisely. Making sure that each item you add to your wardrobe will mix and match easily with everything else.
It also ensures that you don’t need to go overboard on buying pieces as you’ll have endless interchangeable combinations.
I still manage to surprise myself with new outfit combos without ever needing to purchase something new.
I was dead set on wearing my lovely ‘vintage’ Strenesse by Gabriele Strehle cashmere coat for a brisk walk in the winter sunshine today.
I needed a thick jumper though so picked this HM wool polo neck, which I dyed myself from an oatmeal (which is not my colour) to this beautiful mustardy camel.
And, the rest just fell into place my G-Star boots from two seasons ago and the Sweatybetty leggings all with similar tones.

My colours... through and through.
Have you discovered your clothing palette?
It’s definitely worth investing some time in, as with a cohesive palette you’ll end up buying less as your outfits will work really well together. Creating endless combinations.

This T-shirt by was on the ‘out’ pile, a year old but now too small for my son.
I love this t-shirt and never one to be afraid of breaking the mold (I’m not one to stick to stereotypical categories) I 🤔 this Tee will fit me, so I popped it on and OMG an outfit was born!
What makes this so special is that it’s authentically faded. I would never have bought this ‘new’ for me and just browsing through some of the high-street racks at the moment there’s a lot of ‘faded’, ‘frayed’, ‘used’ out there.
So why don’t you take a second look at your wardrobe or maybe your mother’s, brother’s, sister’s or friend’s wardrobe. There’s bound to be something authentically ‘used’ and ‘faded’ that will work just perfectly for now 😀 @ London, United Kingdom

There’s been a bit of a ‘forced vacation’ with regards to writing for my blog.
Partly due to school holidays, combining this with being a single mom, the lack of family (they all live abroad), funds and holiday camps means mom’s shoulders need to be broad.
I do love spending time with my son, but I struggle to find an equilibrium between keeping him entertained and completing the goals I’ve set for myself.
To keep the focus I listen to guided visualisation and mindful mindful pod casts on

From today in London we officially must wear 😷 when going ‘indoor’ in public places.
Having just returned from Ibiza where this was already protocol, nothing new. Except that there I used the disposable medical masks as an emergency resort.
Here I obviously want to use something more long term and sustainable. As you can’t try 😷 on (for obvious reasons) it’s quite complicated trying to find one that fits my face (small and narrow for an adult).
I settled on a family pack by Gap. Which consists of 4 adult and 4 kids masks. The first are slightly too large for my face and the latter just an incy bit on the small side. However, both will suffice and I can wash them and reuse them.
Why do I like the Gap face masks? Because they were one of the first retailers to take action and use their manufacturing capabilities very early on during the epidemic to produce ppe for healthcare workers 🙌🏻🙏🏻 @ Hammersmith, Hammersmith And Fulham, United Kingdom

Keeping true to the leopard print theme and just showing that regardless the item the print is a winner.

My skin tone falls into the autumn colour palette and I love wearing black, neutrals, grey, khakis and white. A leopard print gives my neutral wardrobe some spice.
Leopard prints combine effortlessly with almost every colour, even neon brights work amazingly well with it and it can be worn the whole year round, not just in summer 😉.

I’ll almost always choose gold to accessories with a leopard print and love to stack my beads and not just because they are pretty but a perfect combination of yin & yang

I bought my t-shirt two years ago. It’s by Alix The Label a no nonsense rock’n roll chick luxury basics brand. They do lovely pieces in lots of natural fabrics, unfortunately there’s no ethical or sustainable info on their website as yet... @ Ibiza, Spain

Take a walk on the wild side 🐾.
I am incredibly drawn to leopard prints, and I have a fair few pieces in my wardrobe that I have collected over the years.
There’s something about the contrasting colours ivory, caramel, coffee that make an all black outfit pop.
Leopard works well with my skin tone, eyes and hair colour which have complimentary golden highlights, auburn and dark brown tones. Even my freckles give a nod to the leopard that lives within me.
My black shorts are by the cult denim label OneTeaspoon. Discovered and bought in a fabulous little store called Malibu Boutique based in Ibiza Botafoch marina.
OneTeaspoon have started taking sustainable steps within their sourcing and manufacturing process since 2018, although they admit there is still a way to go, the fact that they have started consciously thinking about their impact on our planet is a great first step. Keep it up!

The devil is in the details. I have a golden rule when it comes to accessories... never skimp! Better to save-up an extra month or two and buy an iconic versatile piece that will last and last.
This Jimmy Choo bag is about six years old now and has made it into my Ibiza wardrobe as an all time favourite. It works day to evening but you won’t see me taing it to the beach! Beautiful costly items should be looked after and they will last a lifetime.
The sandals bought two seasons ago, I’m proud to say are from a Danish label, Becks Söndergraad, that take their sustainable responsibility seriously.
These two items pulled my whole outfit together today (see previous post for details).

I am a very fortunate ‘slow fashion season’ participant because I have a home-away-from-home’ wardrobe that I haven’t seen since last summer.
It’s almost like walking into a store with rails of beautiful clothes that you fall in love with all over again.
My G-Star shorts were bought in the summer sale and it was a pleasant surprise to find this Ushuaia tank and these Beck Söndergaard slippers in my closet that coordinate just perfectly.
You don’t need a ‘home-away-from-home’ wardrobe to get that... ooh I forgot I had that excitement. Just tidying your wardrobe into seasons will give the same result.
