Today, I celebrate brotherhood…

Many moons ago… on the cusp of becoming parents for the very first time, I reached out to a younger friend turned brother… Bobby. A college boy at the time… but present, willing, available.
Together, we set up our baby’s cot… capturing moments in pictures… and stepping, unknowingly, into a new chapter of life.

Fast forward… eleven years later…

Another child on the way… but this time, the air felt different. The excitement… quieter. The weight… heavier. And there I was again… faced with a cot to set up… a phase I thought I had long outgrown.
But Bobby… was no longer a call away. Life had happened. Distance had grown. He had moved on… thriving… rising… becoming.

And in that moment, I sank into my thoughts… You are alone now… No one is coming… Face your reality… carry your cross…

But then… a whisper within… Soft… but certain…

“There are many other Bobbys around you…”
You can stay here… or you can reach out.
And so I did.

I made a shortlist… and I called JS.

And just like that… presence showed up again.
We didn’t just set up a cot… We built something more that evening… Clearing out my garden shed… Unpacking thoughts… Sharing space… Honouring the quiet gift of access.

And it became clear…

You are not alone… You were never alone…

What you think you’ve lost… may simply have changed form. Because help… support… healing… They are always around…

Waiting… for you to yield.

By the way, JS… My shed is calling again…

Forward ever!

Scrolling through my phone gallery I saw an old picture of myself wearing a red cardigan and a black jacket. A very lovely picture. The boy looked good.
That picture brought back so many memories. I think I took it while rounding off business school — a school I paid for with my savings… or rather, my entire life savings — less about £500 — a gift from my big brother.
Seeing that picture reminded me of how far I’ve come. It’s one of those pictures you look at, pat yourself on the back, and say, “Olanrewaju, you’ve come a long way.”

Later in the day, I saw a post at work that said, “Keep a done list alongside your to-do list.”
I found that profound.

We focus so much on our to-do lists that we forget our done lists as we move on to the next task, the next goal, the next big thing. But your done list celebrates your little wins. It reminds you that you haven’t been losing. You are not useless. Your life is not bad — you’ve just not been paying attention to what you’ve already accomplished while staring at what’s left to do.

The message is simple:
Take more pictures. Capture the moments. Write your done list and celebrate the little wins.

Have a great week!

I can't believe it has been over 1 year I pinned my thoughts and "adventures" here. The last one year has been hectic... I have stretched, leaped and grown.

I became a father for  the third time - story for another day and have pursued some long term dreams. One of the dreams is exploring a business venture and I must confess it has been a lot of work.

Recently, I had a conversation with one my mentors who I will refer to as HO...a serial entrepreneur.  I asked HO when it will get better, I mean the pressure of career, family,  business and everything in between.  HO's response shocked me...he said:

" It doesn't get better or easier, but you get better in handling issues and task"
The message is clear: BUILD CAPACITY.

You might not have direct control over your "expenses" but you can control your "Income".
In life you do not have control over everything but you can control the major things.

If you are in debts...don't dig deeper...control your expenses and increase your INCOME.
If you don't enjoy your job...upskill and CHANGE career.
If you don't like your weight...change your relationship with FOOD!
What of an unhealthy marriage...seek HELP!

It' s time to build CAPACITY and be intentional.

Enjoy your life!
