Are your clothes easy to mix and match? Or do you find it difficult to do so?

The key to making the most of your wardrobe is to select versatile pieces.

But what are versatile pieces??

This can look like:

🔸 Neutral tones: white, beige, navy, jean

🔸 Classic shapes and cuts

🔸 Clothes that are easy to layer

Sticking to a neutral colour scheme pretty much guarantees that most pieces will mix and match.

Then, adding personality is as easy as adding a pop of colour.

Next you want to pay attention to the cut of the clothes - they shouldn’t be too trendy and should allow for them to be combined in at least 3 different ways.

This is where knowing your body shape and the best fits for it comes in handy 😉

And finally, you have finishing pieces like vest, jackets, cardigans and blazers which can all still be mixed and matched to create endless styles and possibilities.

The main thing here is to know what works for your body and to avoid trends that will date too quickly!

This is all part of the principles in creating a capsule wardrobe. If you’d like to learn to do this yourself, comment ‘CAPSULE’ below ☺️

I learned a few things in my first architecture job out of university.

I’ll be honest, I did really care about fashion and style from the time I was a teenager. So by the time I got my first job, I was on it when it came to style.

Despite being in a VERY junior position - the lowest it gets, really - I still dressed really well for work.

I was doing this for me, not with the intention of being noticed.

But soon enough, I WAS being noticed, and in a positive way.

A few moments stood out to me since then:

🔥 Even though I was in the most junior position, the (female) director of finance noticed me and commented that I dress really well (despite never having spoken to me before)

🔥 When talking about going out after work, a colleague commented ‘of course not, you’re much too classy for that’ when I had misunderstood the plans

🔥 When a movie was being filmed in our office, I got selected to be one of the extras front and centre to a scene (which proceeded to be cut from the film 😅)

These moments alone showed me the power of style and how it affects others’ perceptions of you.

It genuinely influenced the level of respect others had for me and that’s something that has stayed with me since.

I know the importance of making an effort the difference it makes to how I’m treated and respected at work.

And I want the same for you 💕

Dress for Success, my personal style coaching programme, is meant to help you do just that. If you struggle with showing up as you’d like to be seen at work or in your business, comment ‘STYLE’ below for more information. 🔥

I’m curious, what do you think? Do women find more value in dressing well or do men take it just as seriously?

It can feel like the onus has always been on women to look a certain way - whether that’s the stereotype of being the dainty, feminine stay-at-home wife, or the no-nonsense female boss.

Equally, men were expected to wear suits on a daily basis and look professional.

Obviously, the world has changed quite dramatically. Dress codes have loosened up, startups have flipped things on their heads, with CEOs regularly sporting jeans and a t-shirt, and the rise of working from home.

So tell me from your own experience and perspective, who values dressing well more? Drop it in the comments below ⤵️

Sustainable fashion has become an important trend and for very good reason. We’re all becoming more conscious of our impact on the planet and in particular, the impact of fast fashion.

Unfortunately, like most other industries, calling something sustainable doesn’t really mean you’re doing the best thing for the planet. It means you do LESS damage than purchasing from fast fashion brands.

That’s not to say you should avoid sustainable fashion brands, but there are a number of other things you should consider first, before even going out to buy something new. Scroll through the carousel to find out what they are.

And if you do need to buy something new, some brands that I know are truly sustainable and have a strong social purpose and an actually beautiful collection are: and

You know the phrase ‘fake it 'till you make it’ right?

Well, in some ways, I’ve fashion has been this armour and sometimes facade to help me get through times when I wasn’t feeling my best.

That is to say, when I felt like an imposter.

I’ve had these moments quite often, I guess we all do. And they really get to me.

And usually, they come when you’ve made a jump in life - you’ve changed jobs, been promoted, or are starting your first job.

In all of these moments, I found that I needed SOMETHING to hold on to.

Anything to remind me that I’m good at SOMETHING.

Because when you feel like an imposter, you start to feel like you’re not capable of anything worthwhile. And this is absolutely NOT true.

But you just need that reminder and that bit of a confidence boost to help you work through it.

So even in those tough moments where I felt like I knew nothing and wasn’t good enough, I wore clothes that made me feel confident.

That on its own had a really positive effect and reminded me that I can *figure it out*. I’m not helpless. I’m a capable woman and I need to remember that.

When you dress like it, you *feel* it and you eventually *become* it. 👌🏽

I developed Dress for Success, my personal style coaching programme, specifically to help professional women elevate their style so they can level up at work. If imposter syndrome is getting to you and you need to make a change, comment ‘EMPOWER’ below to learn more about how the programme can help you. ⤵️

Should you lose weight before doing a wardrobe restyle?

Maybe you’ve been keen to feel better in your clothes and your body for a while. You feel like how you look doesn’t reflect who you are at all.

You don’t feel like yourself. 💔

But where you’re at right now doesn’t inspire you to make that change because you’re not happy with your body.

You’d rather wait until you’ve lost those few kilos until you can think about updating your closet.

✨ But what if I told you, that it’s not your body but rather your *clothes* that are the problem?

✨ What if you could look like you’ve lost weight, *without doing so*?

Would that make you see yourself differently?

Would that give you the boost of confidence you needed?

👉🏽 I can tell you this: wearing clothes that flatter your body can make you look 1-2 dress sizes smaller.

And KNOWING how to do that, means you’ll be prepared and able to do this no matter what size you are and how much weight you’ve gained or lost.

Let’s be honest, we often dream about that future version of ourselves, but we’re afraid to making it a reality. Life gets in the way, things happen, and sometimes the weight loss journey gets cut short. That doesn’t mean that you can’t love yourself in the body you’re in. That doesn’t mean you can’t be the woman you’ve always dreamed of.

You already ARE her, you just need to see it for yourself.

There’s no reason to hold yourself back, feeling unhappy and stuck where you are.

You can make a change right now that has a direct and positive impact on how you see yourself. And you won’t have to change a thing about body 🧡

✨ And that is why I created my personal style coaching programme, Dress for Success, to help uplift women, let them break free from their confidence blocks and see them hit their professional goals 😍

If you’re feeling stuck and want to start feeling like yourself again, comment the word ‘YES’ to find out more.

Okay let me rephrase that: not having a defined personal style might be costing you money.

👉🏽 Maybe you’re a bit lost with clothes and don’t know what to wear to work on a daily basis.

👉🏽 Maybe you just don’t feel confident enough to be seen, so you try to stay invisible and hide beneath your clothes.

👉🏽 Maybe you strongly believe that clothes have no impact on your ability to get the job done, so you don’t worry about what you wear to work.

What you may not realize is that this may be getting in the way of your professional success.

You probably know you’re ready and capable to take on more responsibility at work. But you see others being recognized and promoted while you remain in the same position.

But let me ask you this:

🔸 Are you stepping out and asking for it?

🔸 Are you being seen at work?

🔸 Would a client immediately recognize your capacity to do a great job, before you even speak to them?

If the answer is no, it’s worth reconsidering why this is the case, and what it is costing you to keep doing things as you currently are.

If you’re feeling stuck, uninspired and under appreciated, it’s time to make a change. Because you’re worth more than this and you deserve to be happy, motivated and seen for the hard work you do.

And doing nothing, is costing you more than you think.

✨ This is why I created Dress for Success, a personal style coaching programme for ambitious women who want to level up in their careers. Because when we value ourselves, others will too 🧡 Comment ‘SUCCESS’ below to find out more 👇🏽

How to dress modestly and look good while doing so - save this for later!

Whether it’s a religious choice or not. Dressing modestly doesn’t have to make you feel limited in what you can wear. Check out three simple tips to elevate your outfit now.

Other ways to do this would be:

✨ Use headscarves as an accessory to colour match with.

✨ Using long skirts, dresses and trousers to create length and make you look taller.

✨ Layering jewellery to tie an outfit together and add some freshness into it.

If you’re looking to elevate your style while dressing modestly for work, drop the word ‘MODEST’ in the comments below to find out how we can work together👇🏽

Do you want to look chic and stylish as a mom?

Most women try to hide their figure after having children.

It’s completely normal, your body has changed and you’re not sure how to deal with these changes.

So you wear baggy shirts and skinny jeans to cover things up. This will make the new curves, lumps and bumps less noticeable.

But instead of drawing attention AWAY from the bits you’re uncomfortable with, you actually emphasize an imbalance that might not be there.

Pairing skinny jeans with a baggy shirt emphasizes a difference in size between your top and bottom, making your upper half appear larger and your legs look very thin in comparison.

This actually makes the problem worse, as it gives the impression that you are bigger than you actually are.

What you can do instead is focus on a more relaxed loose fit with your clothes, but in a more chic style and cut.

Think breezy white shirts tucked into comfy palazzo trousers with some cool white sneakers. Comfortable, yet super chic.

The key point here:

✨ Update your wardrobe with a few ‘vacation chic’ type pieces, as they are elegant, breezy and comfortable

✨ Colour Coordinate

✨ Roll up your sleeves and tuck in your tops to show off a small waist

If this feels like you, and you find yourself struggling to feel at ease in your own skin and find clothes that flatter you, book a call to find out how my new coaching programme can help you 💕 Comment STYLE below 👇🏽

I walked into a meeting surrounded by a room full of men in construction. I was the only woman present and I wasn’t even qualified as an architect at the time.

For context, I’m barely 5’2, and a woman of colour in my late 20’s. On rare occasions, I’ve been able to pass as a student. 😅

It felt like all the cards were stacked against me.

I fully expected to be belittled and treated as a child who didn’t know what they were talking about.

But to my absolute surprise, I was treated with nothing but respect. 😳

My opinion was valued and I felt comfortable speaking out when I had something to say.

Why am I telling you this? ⤵️

😬 Like I said, the cards were stacked against me.

🙃 I’d had very little engagement with these people prior to meeting them in person.

👉🏽 But I did only one thing to help put myself on the best foot forward for this meeting.

I picked an outfit that felt powerful. I wore a very bold top with a bright red jacket. And I wore it with ease.

I wasn’t hiding, rather I chose to stand out and do so with confidence. 🔥

And that made all the difference.

This outfit challenged anyone to NOT take me seriously.

Even when the odds are stacked against you, style can speak for you without you having to say a word. It can communicate you values, capabilities and confidence.
