Our LL002 jeans are made to our own specifications using the finest 15oz, right hand twill, rope weave indigo denim, produced on 70-year-old machines in Okayama, Japan. This 15oz denim fabric is heavier than most jeans you will find and a maximum of only 50 metres a day is produced. Each pair are handcrafted in Okinawa exclusively for Lewis Leathers. One year ago, on the 22nd of June 2025 Derek Harris passed away. He was the proprietor of Lewis Leathers for over 20 years and transformed the company into what it is today. He loved punk rock music, the British pub and books. He was also an avid follower of Manchester United FC. This was Derek’s life, that encompassed endless research on the history of Lewis Leathers and enjoying living and working with his beloved wife Saaya Harris Nohara. He is still missed, but Lewis Leathers will continue on the journey that Derek started.
