From hip-hop and Hollywood to high fashion and streetwear, the interlocking NY has become shorthand for something much bigger: New York itself.

Between December 2020 and April 2021, searches on Lyst spiked as the cap found itself at the centre of fashion’s pandemic-era shift towards effortless dressing.

When first presented its FW26 collection against a series of rooms, the idea was to capture a moment in time. The approach was minimal, but it had a lot to say. Models circulated the runway four times, each time with a layer removed, until the final look was revealed in its purest form. The collection explored how the time and space we exist in can change the course of our lives.

And that idea is embedded in the clothes themselves. Satin dresses appear worn and partially eaten away, exposing wallpaper-like prints beneath layers of fabric. Fused leather jackets are designed to slowly peel away with movement, revealing more houndstooth underneath. Imperfection isn’t something to disguise here; it’s built into the clothes, designed to evolve the more they’re lived in.

Swipe for a look at some of the latest pieces of the FW26 collection now available to shop.

Maximalist luxury is gaining momentum, with Michael Rider’s rewriting the rules of statement dressing. The French house has climbed 5 places in the Q2 2026 Lyst Index, with a 31% increase in search demand. The designer has struck a balance between the legacies of Phoebe Philo and Hedi Slimane while introducing his own vision for the French luxury house. Part of its appeal lies in its accessibility: Celine’s styling codes, from sharp tailoring to effortless layering, can be adopted without owning the collection itself, making the aesthetic feel aspirational yet attainable.

’s Blazy-mania shows no sign of slowing down, with the house leading this summer’s hottest eyewear trends with a 70% surge for the French luxury brand’s shield glasses. The sporty shades feature a subtle CC, showing that logomania is taking a more understated approach but hasn’t gone away.

The creative director’s philosophy brings a joyful spark, injecting fun and flirtiness back into fashion after a long period of stark minimalist design codes dominating the conversation. Online videos showcased bustling boutiques, with queues circling the block as netizens waited to shop the SS26 collection. When we think of Blazy’s Chanel, the words that come to mind are vibrant, colour-rich textures, paired with sleek, classic sophistication that marches to the beat of its own drum.

Cruise collections, resort dressing, and warm-weather accessories all saw increased demand this quarter, with consumers showing a renewed appetite for romantic, vacation-ready styles. This was coupled with record-breaking heatwave temperatures across the Northern Hemisphere at the tail end of the quarter, with shoppers looking for both essential and playful updates to their day-to-day wardrobes.

We also can’t ignore the lead-up to the summer of sport, which fueled demand for fan apparel. Team-driven pieces dominated, with the Hat taking the No. 1 spot after searches surged by a staggering 4,276%.

What unites the quarter’s hottest products list is a clear desire for practicality without sacrificing personal expression or styling.

Julian Klausner’s approach to color at feels instinctive rather than prescribed. Inspired by the fading light of dusk, SS27 unfolds through sun-bleached yellows, dusty pinks, softened lilacs and earthy browns that feel as though they’ve been weathered by heat rather than freshly applied.

The palette never relies on contrast for impact. Instead, each tone gently flows into the next, creating a sense of warmth and ease that mirrors a long summer evening. Even the richer shades feel softened, as though they’ve spent the day under the Paris sun.

It’s a reminder that most memorable colour palettes don’t always shout the loudest.

It’s official: the popularity of flip-flops has paved the way for an even more radical kind of minimalism, one that lets your toes do all the work.

From to and x Xero, designers are embracing barely-there straps, flexible soles and barefoot-inspired silhouettes that expose more foot than ever before, taking “less is more” to a conclusion that turning restraint into a statement.
