Yoran from the Netherlands was in the shop yesterday as we finished unpacking a delivery of new branded wear and he picked up this Dystopian Bull t-shirt.

The artwork takes visual reference from iconic London architecture of the 1960s to the early 1980s such as the Southbank Centre, Trellick Tower, Barbican, the demolished Robin Hood Gardens and the Alexandra Road Estate in Camden.

Fragments of George Orwell’s ‘1984’, Aldous Huxley’s ‘Brave New World’, Anthony Burgess/Stanley Kubrick’s ‘A Clockwork Orange’ and current world affairs regarding our f***ed up world inform the narrative.

We are open today for the long weekend and hope that most of you are having a great break from work. It’s hello from Bill, our good pal Bev and new friend Fred. The Punk Queen of Soho is well known for her writing skills as well as for being a punk icon and great supporter of the scene. She has written for ‘Sounds’, ‘Noise’, ‘Maximum Rocknroll’ and Fat Mike’s ‘Punk Rock Confidential’, amongst other music magazines. Fred is frontman for Bad Nasty.

Our favourite north of Ireland punk Garry was back in for a natter at the weekend and a pint of dry c***r. He also checked out the new Cockney Rejects releases on Cadiz Music which arrived on Friday.

Originally released to great acclaim in 1980 and a long time deleted, ‘Greatest Hits Vol. II’ is available again, this time pressed on limited edition sky blue vinyl. ‘At The BBC: The Peel Sessions 1979-1980’ features two rip roaring BBC sessions recorded for Radio 1’s John Peel show. The sessions captured the very young punk band tearing through some of their earliest hits. This is the first time these recordings have been made available on a long playing record, on claret and blue splatter vinyl.

Oi Oi The Shop is now stockist of Ben Cooper’s ‘Raising Hell’ zine. First produced by Ben in Leeds from 1983 to 1990, he restarted it in 2022 and it has been in production since then.

He was also involved with two other zines previously - ‘Attack On Bzag’ (1981) and ‘You’re So Hideous’ (1990s).

On sale in our Camden store at the super low price of £1 we have the current issue, number 34, and many back issues. Issue 35 will be available in a few weeks.

Ben is now based in South London and is a regular face at local punk gigs. Support one of your scene’s top zinesters and grab a copy.

We have new tote bags and thanks to Jason from Australia for showing them off. He called in to the shop last week ahead of going to Rebellion Festival and popped back again yesterday. His Killing Joke and The Cramps t-shirts are old tour merch he bought when the bands played in his home country.

Stopping by Oi Oi The Shop on the roads to Bloodstock Festival and Rebellion Punk Music Festival this week were Biohazard, Heroes to None, Liberty & Justice, Convict Class, Pirates Press Records, the Great Skinhead Reunion as well as some local mates - Clobber and The Fiddler's Elbow - Camden. All legends and we much appreciate them taking the time out of busy schedules to visit us. Respect to them for what they do.
