Zandra’s long-time PR of got married in Vegas last month opting for a bespoke Zandra Rhodes cream shimmer-satin pleated mini-dress as her party look 🪽🤍

The dress was inspired by Zandra’s early 1981 pleating from her Renaissance/Gold Collection, with the silhouette heavily influenced by a tiered lamè party dress from Zandra’s 2018 comeback London Fashion Week collection Looking Back, Looking Forward.

With special thanks to Emily and Angela in Zandra’s atelier for perfecting this special look.

Best served with a touch of fashion history...

Sugrue South Downs was delighted to be part of a special evening at London’s Fashion and Textile Museum last Thursday, marking the unveiling of a commemorative plaque honouring the Museum’s founders, Zandra Rhodes and Salah Hassanein who helped Zandra build the museum in 2003.

Guests gathered to celebrate an extraordinary legacy of creativity. Dame Zandra Rhodes opened the evening with a heartfelt speech reflecting on the Museum’s history, her life-partner Salah’s unwavering support, and the Fashion and Textile Museum’s importance in preserving and promoting British fashion for future and past generations.

Throughout the reception, guests enjoyed Sugrue South Downs Bonkers Chardonnay, which was named as England’s finest white wine in The Times.

The Fashion and Textile Museum welcomed a creative crowd last night to mark the installation of a star plaque ⭐️ alongside Andrew Logan’s sparkling mirrored portraits of its founders, Dame Zandra Rhodes and Salah Hassanein

Guests gathered to celebrate Zandra and Salah’s vision in establishing London’s first museum devoted to the craftsmanship of Fashion and Textiles. Designed by renowned Mexican architect Riccardo Legorreta, the museum opened in 2003 to champion and preserve the work of contemporary fashion and textile designers, a legacy now continued by Newham College London.

The evening also celebrated the donation of five Zandra Rhodes garments to the Fashion and Textile Museum’s permanent collection from The Zandra Rhodes Foundation, which were displayed in the foyer.

Zandra read a heartfelt speech before friends and supporters from the fashion and art worlds, including Stephen Jones, Philip Colbert and Sophia Hadjipanteli. Guests enjoyed SUGURE South Downs, Bonkers Chablis.
