Behind every happy bride is a seamstress who helped turn her dream dress into reality 🤍🪡

This Uxbridge bride’s WED2B Jules wedding dress required weeks of meticulous hand-sewing. Every floral lace appliqué was individually positioned and secured with tiny backstitches, creating a seamless finish that looked as though the lace had always been part of the original gown.

I also hemmed the dress to her length, added an inner corset and bust support, and created a three-point American bustle.

After the wedding, my bride messaged to say: **“The dress was a hit.”**

That made every tiny stitch worthwhile ✨

**From online purchase to a beautifully sculpted bridal fit 🤍**

This gorgeous Surrey bride brought her **House of CB Liliana wedding dress** to my Sutton studio after purchasing it online — and what a beautiful transformation ✨

The gown needed significant reshaping and additional internal structure to create the secure, flattering fit she wanted:

✂️ Approximately 4 inches taken in through the bust and waist, carefully blended into the skirt
✂️ Straps shortened
✂️ Bespoke inner corset added
✂️ Additional bust support created
✂️ Original hem preserved

At her pre-fit, I recommended approximately 3-inch heels. This brought the skirt to the perfect length, allowing us to preserve the original House of CB hem rather than carrying out an unnecessary alteration.

The finished result was a beautifully defined waist, supported bodice and secure fit — while keeping everything she originally loved about the **House of CB Liliana**. 🤍

No extra fabric? Time to get creative ✂️✨

For this beautiful Essence of Australia wedding dress, the bride wanted soft flutter sleeves and a completely redesigned neckline—but there was no spare matching fabric.

After shortening the gown, I carefully reclaimed the embroidered fabric from the hem. I then trimmed out each individual leafy motif, arranged them onto fine bridal tulle and hand-sewed every piece into place to create bespoke flutter sleeves that looked as though they had always belonged to the dress.

The neckline was also completely reshaped, creating a more flattering and beautifully balanced finish while preserving the original character of the gown.

This is more than an alteration—it is couture bridal reconstruction, where every available piece of fabric is used thoughtfully. 🤍

✨ Every wedding dress deserves to fit as though it was made exclusively for the bride wearing it. Emma brought her WED2B Fabien dress to me after being told it cannot be fitted any further. I took it in 8cm took in the sleeves shortened dress added bustle inner support and transformed my stunning brides dress to fit her like a glove!

Although my private couture alterations studio is based in Sutton, I’m privileged to welcome many brides travelling from **Horsham** for specialist bridal alterations that go far beyond standard dress fitting.

A modern satin gown where every detail matters 🤍
This beautiful KYHA Miles wedding dress arrived at my Sutton bridal atelier needing a precision couture fit while preserving the clean, sculptural beauty of the original design.
For this East Croydon bride, I carefully:
✨ Created a hidden inner corset for support and confidence
✨ Reinforced the pointed corset bodice with additional boning to maintain its sharp architectural shape
✨ Shortened the gown to the perfect length
✨ Created a bespoke 7-point American bustle to support the full satin train beautifully
✨ Professionally steam pressed and prepared the gown for her destination wedding
The final result was a gown that looked effortless — secure, elegant and designed to move beautifully throughout the entire wedding day.

There is something incredibly special about opening a brand new diary… especially when the very first page is already reserved for a bride. 🤍
Today I welcomed my first 2028 bride into my diary.
It’s always humbling to know that brides are planning so far ahead and choosing to trust me with one of the most important garments they’ll ever wear. Every booking is a privilege, and I never take that trust for granted.
If you’re planning a 2027 or 2028 wedding and want your gown altered with couture precision, I always recommend securing your fitting well in advance—particularly for extensive alterations or bespoke dress transformations.

✨ Not every alteration is about making a dress fit. Sometimes it’s about reimagining it completely. ✨
This beautiful engagement gown arrived at my Sutton atelier from a client in Belmont with just five days before her special celebration.
Although the dress was already heavily embellished with intricate beads and sequins, she had a vision inspired by a photograph of elegant lace sleeves. Finding a lace that complemented the existing beadwork took careful research, but once we found the perfect match, the real couture work began.
Every scalloped edge was individually hand-cut from just one metre of lace before being carefully applied by hand. I reshaped the original straight sleeves into a soft leg-of-mutton silhouette, lowered the heavily beaded neckline, and continued the lace around the bodice and hem so each new detail looked as though it had always belonged to the original design.
When couture alterations are done well, no one notices what has been changed—they simply see a beautiful dress.
Creating that illusion is my favourite part of what I do. 🤍
