The Glorious Twelfth will soon be upon us, marking the beginning of the grouse season. During early-season days, when the weather still carries the warmth of late summer, Cordings shooting waistcoats offer the ideal answer.

Here Max and John showcase our loden wool waistcoat. Milled to a dense, hard-wearing finish, loden is naturally shower-resistant and wind-repellent. It layers beautifully over a tattersall or checked shirt and cuts a fine figure.

Join John and Max as they showcase our Royal Blue Horizontal Corduroy Trousers.

Corduroy is a woven fabric, traditionally cotton, featuring ridges called wales. On most corduroy those wales run vertically, down the length of the leg. Here the wale runs horizontally, which gives them a distinctive look you will rarely see elsewhere.

Cordings has called 19 Piccadilly home for over a century. The building you see today, Denman House, was completed in 1903 and built from Portland stone, the same stone used for Buckingham Palace and St Paul’s Cathedral.

Cordings has occupied Denman House since its opening, and we’re still here in 2026.
