Meet Gerry (left) and Jeffrey Doltis (right), the original and current torchbearers of our shirtmaking legacy. Gerry founded the business back in 1938, cutting cloth for some of the most distinguished gentlemen of his time. A master tailor with a sharp eye and even sharper shears, he set the bar high. Luckily, his son Jeffrey was paying close attention. Today, he carries forward the same commitment to craftsmanship.

Our Story

Based in the heart of London’s Savile Row – home to the world’s finest tailors – we have been crafting finely tailored clothes since 1938. The company was founded by Gerry Doltis, who was a master tailor and made suits for many of the leading entertainment and establishment figures of the day. Unfortunately, after he was called to National Service in 1939, the business was unable to flourish and – to make matters worse – our London factory was destroyed during the Blitz.

However, once returning home, Gerry restarted the company and moved in to larger premises, where he made clothing for some of the leading department stores across the UK.

In 1998 we opened our flagship bespoke store at 40 Savile Row, and in 2001 we launched The Savile Row Company website which allowed us to start selling directly to our own customers. Today, the business is run by Gerry’s son Jeffrey, with the help of his daughter Lee-Anne and a close-knit team. We have customers in over 120 countries and continue to offer a wide range of ready-to-wear and bespoke (40 Savile Row) garments including men’s shirts, suits, silk ties and much more.
