Now listed n my web-shop - Late Victorian silver and bone bracelet. circa 1890.

Heavy silver curb links threaded with bone rings and finished with a heart padlock clasp. This feels surprisingly contemporary despite being well over a century old. A current favourite of mine.

Chatelaines are having a fashion moment. They’ve been all over the catwalks lately, most recently spotted at Ann Demeulemeester.

This late 19th century steel example is my most punk yet: nine chunky polished chains suspending an original collection of functional tools - a corkscrew, pin cushion, thimble, pencil, notebook, scissors and letter opener.

Now listed in my web-shop with a group of other Victorian and Georgian rings - The most beautiful late Georgian sentimental ring in 9ct gold, centred with a glazed compartment containing intricately plaited golden hair, framed by a border of sparkling rose-cut stones.

Hair-work jewellery was one of the most personal forms of adornment in the Georgian and Victorian era, where a lock of hair was preserved beneath glass as a lasting token of affection or remembrance.

Inside Out - 1880s tailored jacket, turned inside out to reveal the architecture beneath. Available.

Victorian tailoring relied on an intricate internal structure to achieve its sculpted silhouette: narrow strips of boning at the waist, carefully stitched button reinforcements, hand-finished seam allowances, and precisely shaped sleeve construction. Even the scalloped hem is fully engineered from the inside.

The most intricate workmanship was often the part never meant to be seen.

Another preview for tomorrow, Sunday 28 June at Kensington Town Hall - Antique printed cotton day dress circa 1830s.

An exceptionally rare printed cotton day dress dating to the 1830s, with a beautifully draped off-the-shoulder neckline, dramatic gigot sleeves gathered into fitted cuffs, and a finely pleated skirt falling from a fitted bodice. The delicate geometric floral print in soft turquoise and faded rose is characteristic of the period. This has period mends and minor alterations.

Antique dotted muslin wrapper circa 1845-1865 coming to this Sunday 28th June at Kensington Town Hall.

Mid-Victorian wrapper in fine dotted muslin with cascading sleeve flounces and delicate ruffled trim. Constructed with an internal fitted bodice and a heavily gathered back waist, has been let out at the front waist at some point.
