Asalamu ‘alaikum ladies,
I wanted to share something personal with you.
I performed Hajj in 2018—one of the hottest years. I thought I had prepared well, choosing a very thin polyester khimar, assuming it would keep me cool as it was thin and light. But on the Day of Arafat, in the intense heat, I became severely overheated and collapsed from heat exhaustion. It was a frightening moment, and to my embarrassment, I managed to hold up my group with my dramatics—but Alhamdulillah, I recovered, and I’m here to share what I learned.
That experience changed everything for me.
It taught me that fabric choice isn’t just about how light something feels—it’s about how it performs. Synthetic materials like polyester can trap heat and restrict airflow, even when they’re thin (I wish younger me knew). In hot climates, your body needs fabrics that breathe with your skin and help regulate temperature.
This is exactly why I rebranded the company with a focus on natural fabrics only. Breathable, comfortable, and designed to support you through long, demanding days in the heat—this is what we now do best.
If you’re preparing for Hajj, I truly encourage you to prioritise natural fibres. It can make all the difference to your comfort and wellbeing.
For those invited to Hajj 2026, I wish you ease, safety, and a truly beautiful journey.
Hajj was, by far, the most intense and soul-nourishing experience I have ever encountered—one that stays with you long after you return.
And a small, honest note from me: the toilets really aren’t as bad as you might imagine - it’s very much a case of mind over matter!
