This is Wally the Monkey (friend of Dumbo in the last post). Hopefully the 'spot the difference' picture should be tricky, as the challenge was - to clean him, replace his degraded foam stuffing, and repair his seams that were all a bit weak and giving way - while not making him look or feel any different. No fluffing of his fur allowed! I removed the old foam, but his feet were filled with polystyrene.
I managed to clean it using a system involving a colander and sieve, then I spooned it back into his feet. He still walks with the same satisfying crunch.

This is Dumbo the monkey. He came in with another monkey friend who also had surgery. He belongs to Matthew, who has passed him on to his daughter. Poor Dumbo's legs were made out of dungarees and he'd worn them right through to the stuffing. Too much tree climbing I bet! It was requested that I 'magic mended' him, and change as little as possible. His new mummy had extreme anxiety that he should be the same, both to look at and feel. I remade his trousers, fusing the old ones over the new. I also washed his wool stuffing and created an elaborate drying cage, so it could dry thoroughly in the sunshine without my cats deciding it would make a comfy bed. He's now returned home, and has been approved!

Poor Mary! She's so dirty, and her clothes are full of holes. She's also stuffed with woodwool, so isn't feeling very cuddly. She was handmade during the war and has become a beloved heirloom. I'll be finishing off her restoration today, so check back for the results!

Meet Sweetheart. He's around 100 years old, and was feeling rather sorry for himself. His feet had been previously repaired by someone with embroidery and I suggested we match the hand paws, his granddaughter agreed. He's off celebrate his daddy's 90th birthday.

Emergency! I opened my emails on Wednesday morning to find an urgent request. Poor Teddy had lost his head.
His distraught human friend hadn't slept all night. I was heading off to my dad's for Easter, precisely 3 hours later, so I lost no time in contacting Teddy. His human's mum, popped him over for a swift surgery. He is feeling much better now thank you very much. (I can't always promise to respond as quickly, but I will do my best in a real emergency). &e

Whoops! I'm not sure exactly what happened to this poor Teddy. He's all better now though!
