The AURA QUE range is made in direct collaboration with fair trade producer groups, breathing new li We are based in Hastings on the South Coast, UK.

We design with integrity, creating beautifully handcrafted products to be treasured season after season. Central to our ethos is nurturing long-lasting relationships with our producers in Nepal, and we are on a quest to develop our most ethical and eco-friendly supply chain possible. We use the below principles to guide us along our way:

PEOPLE - Community is everything to us, from the people who make our products to the individuals who buy them. INTEGRITY - ‘Namaste’ is a Nepalese greeting which means ‘An expression of appreciation and respect to one another’ - this is our mantra. 🎃 PUMPKIN SEASON | SPICY PUMPKIN SOUP 🥣🍂

Back when we had the AURA QUE shop, we used to buy loads of pumpkins and squash from our local greengrocer to decorate the shop for autumn. Inevitably, we’d have plenty left over afterwards – and I really didn’t want them to go to waste!

I found a great spicy pumpkin soup recipe and started making big batches for yummy autumn lunches at work. It’s warming, gently spicy and still one of my favourite ways to use up seasonal pumpkins and squash. 🧡

Here’s my simplified version – serves about 4:
🎃 1 medium pumpkin or squash
🌶️ 1 tbsp garam masala
🌿 2 tsp each ground coriander + cumin
🌶️ ½–1 tsp chilli flakes
🫒 3 tbsp olive oil
🧅 1 onion
🧄 2 garlic cloves
🫚 A piece of fresh ginger
🥣 900ml vegetable stock
🥛 100ml crème fraîche

TO MAKE: Cut the pumpkin into chunks, keeping the skin on, and toss with 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp garam masala, 1 tsp cumin and 1 tsp coriander. Roast at 180°C / 160°C fan for around 40–45 minutes, until really soft.

Meanwhile, gently fry the chopped onion in the remaining oil until soft. Add the garlic, ginger, 1 tsp coriander, 1 tsp cumin and chilli, cook for another couple of minutes, then add the vegetable stock.

Scoop the roasted pumpkin flesh away from the skin, add to the pan and blitz until smooth. Stir through the crème fraîche, season to taste and gently warm through. 🥣

And don’t throw away those pumpkin seeds! Toast them in a dry pan and scatter them over the top for a bit of crunch. 🎃

Perfect with some crusty bread for an easy autumn lunch – and even better when you’ve rescued a pumpkin that might otherwise have gone to waste!

🇳🇵🌼 HAPPY DASHAIN 2026! 🪔

Wishing all our wonderful artisan partners, producers and friends in Nepal a very Happy Dashain! 💛

Dashain is one of Nepal’s biggest festivals, celebrated this year from 17th–24th October, with families coming together to enjoy the festivities, traditions and some well-deserved time off.

Every autumn, there’s always a bit of a rush at AURA QUE to get our production in Nepal finished and shipped before Dashain begins! With Tihar following not long afterwards, October isn't exactly the most productive month for work in Nepal, as everyone quite rightly focuses on celebrating and spending time with family! 🎉

And this year was no exception… our latest top-up order was finished just a few days ago and sent on its way to the UK. Phew! 📦✈️

We've managed to squeeze in some much-needed restocks of popular AURA QUE styles, along with the remaining pieces for some lovely bespoke orders for the RNLI, Peerie Shop, St Pauls Cathedral and V&A gift shops. Fingers crossed everything arrives safely with us in Hastings soon! 🤞

🪔 This lovely photo was taken at a little shrine in one of our producers’ homes in Nepal, with candles, fruit offerings, Nepali rupee notes and an image of Hindu deities, all part of the traditions and celebrations surrounding Dashain.

But for now, the hard work is done, the shipment is on its way, and it's time for our artisan partners to enjoy the festivities!

📦♻️ IT’S WHAT’S INSIDE THAT COUNTS! 💚

If you’ve ever received an AURA QUE order in a slightly battered cardboard box, there’s a good reason for that!

We’re committed to reusing as much packaging as possible, for both our retail and wholesale orders, to help reduce waste wherever we can. 🌿

📦 Our boxes have travelled far! Many of our wholesale orders are packed into the same sturdy, triple-walled cardboard boxes that our handmade products arrive in from Nepal. They might have a few bumps and scrapes from their travels, but they’re still perfectly good for another journey!

♻️ Reuse before recycling! We save and reuse cardboard boxes, plastic sheeting and other protective packaging that comes into our workshop, giving materials another life rather than throwing them away.

✂️ Even our old boxes get a second chance! Any cardboard that’s too damaged to reuse goes through our rather fancy shredder, which transforms it into lattice-cut cardboard padding. It’s brilliant for protecting our handmade ceramics and filling gaps in parcels!

💚 Trying to reduce the extras. We use water-activated paper tape wherever possible, although some parcels, particularly larger wholesale orders, still need conventional sticky tape to keep everything securely packed.

So, especially to our lovely wholesale stockists, if your next delivery arrives in a box that looks like it’s seen a bit of the world, we hope you’ll understand why! 🌏

It’s what’s inside that counts, and by reusing packaging and choosing recycled alternatives wherever we can, we’re doing our little bit to reduce waste at AURA QUE.
Small choices, made every day, can make a difference. 💚
