The story of this custom cheongsam dress for Charlene Alena Liang can also be expressed in numbers & time taken to craft it.
84 spools of silk thread in 21 different colors, 16 spools of zari thread in 4 different colors, thousands of beads and pearls, with 1260 hours of hand embroidery.

We're very honoured to have worked on this exquisite piece. This dress with hand embroidered floral motifs was specially designed for beautiful Circe Henestrosa for the opening of the *Frida Kahlo: Making Her Self Up* exhibition she curated at the Victoria and Albert Museum London. Inspired by the embroidery of the Zapoteco community located at the Istmo de Tehuantepec, this contemporary interpretation features 17 colours of silk thread and took over 720hrs to make.
