Too hot for me to go into Alfies Antiques until it's a bit cooler. Not feeling like doing much at all. When I bought the green earrings I also bought two other pairs. One long diamante pair and this pair. Now these are truly bonkers. I love to think about who bought and wore them - and who got up in the morning and designed them! Did all 3 pairs belong to the same person. Where did she go in them. Will anyone buy them - and where will they go in them. I am not going anywhere today. I will try them on later - for fun! hot

I haven't been out buying much recently but did actually make an effort last week! Saw lots but nothing to set my heart racing. Just things I know will sell in the shop. Is it getting hard to buy or have I seen so much in my 50 years looking at things? At least these huge drop earrings brought a smile to my face. Something different. Who will wear these for a night out!

It was a strange cat day yesterday. My life is full of coincidences. After yoga we looked at pictures of a friends new Burmese kittens. I then went home and rewatched the wonderful clip of a cat interrupting a performance of Romeo and Juliet ballet in Turkey. Juliet wakes up to the dead Romeo and a cat has wandered on to the stage and is clawing at his head to wake him up. Juliet somehow manages to pull Romeo by his feet away from the cat and carries on as normal. The cat sits on table and watches the rest of the ballet. Time for bed now but I then hear the loudest cat meow from under the table! I have no cat and shot into the air. So shocked I order the cat - as if it was a human - up the hall and out the front door. It does as it was told. I regret not being kinder to my visitor but how on earth did it get under my table- and how long had it been in the house? What was yesterday all about? #

Not a good morning. Firstly someone wants to buy a silver brooch from my website and whole bag has disappeared. Secondly - my eyes since the cataract and laser ops are individually fine - but they seem reluctant to talk to each other. The first appointment at Moorfields is September. So it's a lovely day for gardening but the bindweed has gone mad. How on earth do you get rid of it. I think I should just take some G & T and crisps outside and give up on the day. In looking for the silver I found two more of the porphyry bracelets. Which colour do you like best? stock

What a whopper! A mid century porphyry glass stones bracelet probably made by Sphinx - but not marked. In mauve/white colour. Porphyry glass is a type of opaque , marbled, veined art glass. It apparently reached its peak in the 1960/70s. I do like this particular colour combination. Certainly makes a statement -it is quite large - on a gold tone metal - and in very good condition. Now is it going to be shop or Web site?

I have had this old box of pen nibs for ages as I just love it! The ?judge getting stabbed by the devil. The back is wonderful too. However it is time to let go. Will be putting it on the web site after another coffee. Hughes was a famous maker of pen nibs. Each nib was stamped with the firm's details. There are more than 60 nibs in the box so it will probably sell to someone
who deals in old pen nibs. Hope the box goes to a collector.

Love small boxes/containers. This old French blue enamel ?powder box has a mirror inside. It features a stoat, a crown and crosses. The enamel is in lovely condition for the age. Wonder who owned and used it.

Cooler yesterday and went in on a Wednesday to avoid tube strikes -so not in today. Actually had the energy to tidy this area. Mostly the lovely Deco green glass Czech. items. Love this colour. Exhausted when I had finished. Not an easy height to work on. Trying to get ready for Alfies 50th Birthday Party. Will put invite up next.
