We've been updating the handmade vestment examples on our website lately, and have been reintroduced to this beautiful Gothic chasuble. It was handmade in our Green 'Gothic' silk damask, and incorporated both historic and brand new hand-embroidery.

The Japanese gold thread of the embroidered motifs are a perfect complement to the red velvet orphreys, along with the gold 'Diamond & Lay' braid. We particularly admire the way the additional orphrey on the neck of the stole lines up with the chasuble's!

Some details of a magnificent altar frontal that was hand sewn in our workroom. An IHS, adorned with fleur de lys and lilies, blooms at its centre, hand-embroidered in tactile bullion and padded appliqué.

The main fabric is our Green 'Bellini' silk damask — an ever popular choice for Ordinary Time vestments.

Cloth of Gold windows draw the eye in this bespoke High Mass set, handcrafted in our Green 'Bellini' silk damask with matching blue orphreys.

The golden highlights give a new dimension to the rich natural tones of the 'Bellini' silks. It's these little details that give us such joy in our craft — with so many beautiful combinations of our fabrics we've yet to see.

Welcoming the first day of August with the vibrancy of our Holy Name High Mass set in Green.

It is distinctively crafted with woven braid on the orphreys and hem — in true Pugin style. We were inspired by one of the architect's own chasuble designs, traversing over 150 years of history to reach our workroom.

We have a profound respect for Pugin, and it is a great honour to be able to craft his designs in the modern day.

Some details from our latest hand-embroidered cope sample: the Sainte-Chapelle. The hood depicts the Gothic rose window of the Parisian church, specially crafted with a mixture of metallic and silk panels to emulate stained glass.

The way it catches the light in our showroom is simply beautiful — particularly the golden spangles illuminating the stars.

This Low Mass set was recently handcrafted in our workroom, ready for the feast of Saint James today. The hand-embroidered quatrefoil on the rear of the chasuble depicts the traditional Shell of St James, shimmering with an appliqué of our Cloth of Gold.

The main fabric is our Sarum Red 'Bellini' silk damask, paired with Blue 'Bellini' orphreys and matching trim.

Presenting our latest hand-embroidered cope sample: a celebration of the Sainte-Chapelle's beautiful Gothic rose window in fabric and thread.

The hood is awash with gold details, from the small cord borders to purl purl edging.
The various panels feature silk shaded and appliqué textures, but perhaps the most captivating are the clusters of scarlet metallic check — like little coils, densely yet neatly arranged.

As a companion to our new stock range, we embellished the woven orphreys with Japanese gold thread and spangles, making the stars truly shine. The starry lining of the range of course makes an appearance — providing a celestial backdrop within that peeks through the stained glass hood.

The enthusiasm in our showroom for this project has been palpable, and we are so delighted to finally share it with you!

Our latest blog delves into the inspiration behind our 150th Anniversary cope. Though it made its debut a few years ago now, we never tire of our history. This was a wonderful opportunity to look back at the creative power of G.F. Bodley, one of our founders.

"And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us:
and the work of our hands, establish Thou it."
'The Dream of Gerontius' by John Henry Newman.
