I trained as a clothing designer in Durban South Africa where I designed for various Menswear and Ladieswear manufactures. Moving to the united Kingdom in the late 80's were I added lingerie and nightwear to my design portfolio. Having worked as a designer for over 25 years, I thought it was time to put my love of crafting and knowledge of design from past decades into my own shop.

I will be sourcing beautiful vintage pieces that you can buy to treat yourself or as a present for someone else. To fit in with these lovely products of times garn by, I will be designing and making retro creations inspired by these early decades. These will either be hand crafted or manufactured in Briton. I believe in ethically and fair trade and nothing I make will be produced that do not meet this requirement. I hope you enjoy visiting and purchasing from my shop

The great thing about pattern cutting is that you can. I love this dress in all I need to do is find a I like and I could make it and it would . I would change the neck as high necks don't work for me. This is the freedoms you have when you learn to cut and design your own . The October is back and I will be doing another workshop. This time I will be teaching you how to do interesting and exciting things with bust darts. So if you use commercial patterns or would like to use your own fitted blocks. I will show you how to;

Move a dart into a new position,
Change darts into a design feature,
Create a princess line,
Make a big or small bust alteration,

This will give you the freedom to create beautiful fitting tops and dresses in a design you would like.

It is always great to wear a garment that fits well. A good fit starts with good designs.

Darts give us the shape to make clothing hang well on the shape of our bodies. If a garment fits well we wear it more and keep it longer. Now that's what sustainability looks like.
