Some umbrellas are destined for more than keeping off the rain. In 1964, a Swaine umbrella found itself in rather extraordinary hands, carried by Julie Andrews as Mary Poppins in the much loved film.

With its distinctive parrot handle and a little cinematic magic, the umbrella became inseparable from one of Britain’s most charming characters.
