Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing stories I’ve been learning from the Suraj Podcast — a series that goes through the Suraj Prakash, a pre-colonial Sikh epic, episode by episode. The stories are incredible and I felt like they needed to be shared 📖

This post covers the Battle of Gurusar — Guru Hargobind Ji’s third battle against the Mughal empire. 4,000 Sikhs against 35,000 Mughal soldiers. Shah Jahan had sent his finest commander from Kabul with one objective — crush the Guru. What followed is one of the most remarkable military stories in Sikh history ⚔️🔵
