We're currently planning a series of university visits ahead of New Designers 2027 and would love to connect with students and tutors before Christmas ✨

The New Designers team is available to visit universities across the UK to meet 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students, sharing insights into New Designers, the opportunities available through the event, and how students can make the most of their time at ND and beyond.

We're happy to tailor sessions to suit your course, whether that's a presentation, studio visit or informal Q&A.

If you're a tutor and would be interested in hosting a visit this term, we'd love to hear from you and discuss available dates before Christmas.

Our first time exhibiting outside the summer show and what a milestone to mark.

Huge thanks to our partners, our exhibitors and everyone who dropped by to see the work.

See you next time 💙

One idea, built to multiply.

Meet Reza Raeisifar, exhibiting at ND Selects with the Dot Collection. What began as a simple three-legged structure has grown into a modular system spanning furniture, collectible objects and lighting, all built from one repeatable form.

The standout piece to look out for is Dot Nut, a collaboration with Saber Abar. A doughnut form and a different visual language rework the Dot structure, hand-bent steel legs beneath a hand-finished fiberglass seat, craftsmanship weighed against industrial production.

Simple, symbolic and instantly recognisable.

Catch it in person at ND Selects, Shoreditch Design Week, 15 - 17 September 📍

The Zandra Rhodes Foundation and De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) invite you to ZANDRA RHODES: ARCHIVE UNFOLDED, a multi-site exhibition celebrating Zandra Rhodes’ major donation of archival material to the University’s Special Collections 📘

On receiving her Honorary Doctorate of the Arts from De Montfort University in 2023, Rhodes announced the Zandra Rhodes Foundation’s decision to donate several key archives, including those of her design collaborations, printed press coverage and photographic transparencies. Select material from these archives will be on display in DMU’s Leicester Gallery.

The exhibition unfolds across two other main locations: the De Montfort University Museum and Trinity House. Visit the Museum to see the first in-depth exploration of Rhodes’ Autumn/Winter 1983 MEDIEVAL collection, and Trinity House to discover STUDENT WORK created in response to Rhodes’ donated archive.

Established by Rhodes in 2020, the Zandra Rhodes Foundation exists to preserve her legacy while making her archive accessible as a learning resource. Its partnership with De Montfort University is a key pillar of the Foundation’s educational mission.

The exhibition is free to attend and open to the public from 26 September 2026 to 16 January 2027.

Opening days and times vary by venue:

Leicester Gallery:
Monday to Friday, 10am–5pm, and Saturday, 12pm–5pm.
Vijay Patel Building, De Montfort University, Mill Lane, Leicester, LE2 7PT

De Montfort University Museum:

Clay as conversation 👥

That's how ceramic sculptor Nic Stace describes her practice: a dialogue between material and mind, shaped by identity, emotion and the way time changes us.

Each sculpture is individually hand built in her North Wales studio, with abstract, interchangeable heads that shift the reading of the piece from one moment to the next. Surfaces are built up in layers of oxide and underglaze after firing, creating texture that feels lived in, marked by process and touch.

Discover Nic's work at ND Selects, Shoreditch Design Week, 15 - 17 September.

Light, reimagined as structure💡

Studio Soldout, founded by Istanbul designer Ibrahim Fatih Satılmış, works across metal, glass and stone to create calm, tactile objects with considered spatial presence.

At ND Selects, catch the UK debut of two new pieces. Crackdown, an award winning lighting family where a crackle-glass globe moves along satin steel, shifting light and reflection as it travels. And Haititi, a three-height floor lamp family in layered metal and ribbed borosilicate glass, its rust patina and smoked glass tempering a warm glow.

Discover their work at ND Selects, running as part of Shoreditch Design Week this September.
