Sartorialee: dressing the globe-trotting man Men’s style, travel and culture blog ABOUT Sartorialee

It’s an amalgam of sartorial and my christian name in English. Sounds exactly like sartorially.

In Italian it’s sartoriale. sartorialee IN A NUTSHELL

Best of British tailoring with Italian flourishes. Think Alfred Brown fine worsted blazer teamed
with merino wool cardigan and E. Marinella tie. The devil is in the detail. sartorialee’s SIGNATURE LOOK

Tailored blazers, accessorised with a variety of scarves, ties, pocket squares and lapel pins (although not always together, less is more) us

ually teamed with dark slim cut denim and monkstraps. YOU CAN EXPECT…

Considered, impassioned copy and imagery, well curated postings on sartorial-relevant content that I like, from product launches, designer and company profiles, behind the scenes in the production process and interviews with major sartorial players. Most definitely quality over quantity. sartorialee: ‘dressing the globe-trotting man’, is a style blog by London-based creative director Lee Osborne

Stopped off at The Beckford Arms, a place I'd been wanting to visit for some time as it belongs to the same portfolio of properties as one of my all time faves, The Lord Poulett.

Established in 1740, The Beckford Arms is a traditional yet stylish country inn located on the edge of the stunning rolling parkland of the Fonthill Estate in Wiltshire, a short detour from the A303.

𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃’𝐒 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐓 𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐃 8/𝟗

Dispatches from a wonderful few days spent on location down in South West England.

Test driving my new sage green Rubato sweater for the first time. I’ve had my eye on one for ages and it’s the first time I’ve shied away from a more fitted style of jumper. The depth of the v-neck was a big draw I have to say (very hard to find a more plunging neckline nowadays) and I was intrigued by its looser fit.

Boasting a boxier cut based on the golf sweaters famously worn by legend of the tee Arnold Palmer, Rubato’s are cut shorter in the body - making them an ideal companion to a pair of high-waisted Gurkhas like the ones I’m pictured in - with more room in the chest for added comfort. So comfortable in fact I hardly knew I had it on.

I’ve teamed it with a pale lemon spread collar shirt. It’s perfect to pop on even in summer in the UK once the sun has gone down.

RED, SKY + NAVY 2/3

Liking the simplicity of this navy silk tie - a present from Drake's a few years back when I was at Condé Nast - as an afront to the busyness of the jacket. The jacket is a statement in itself so this light blue subtly flecked linen shirt - yes, linen in the winter - fits the bill nicely.

🇮🇹 GALLERIA OF DREAMS

Throwing it back to a crisp autumn night in Milan while on location. I trained my wide angle lens skywards inside the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II to achieve this rather dramatic shot.

It is Italy's oldest active shopping mall and a major landmark of the city. Housed within a four-story double arcade opposite the Duomo, the Galleria is named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. It was designed in 1861 and built by architect Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877.

TARTAN TREWS

You don't have to be Bonnie Prince Charlie to sport a pair of these sublime tartan strides. Spied these in M. Bardelli in Milan while there on assignment. Check out my full Milanese sartorial lowdown in the latest issue of Plaza Uomo, available on newsstands now.

FIRENZE 2/3

I love wandering the back streets of Florence at any time of the year, but particularly at Christmas time. Sadly us menswear enthusiasts won't be making our annual pilgrimage to Pitti in January so I'm posting these images as a reminder of wonderful times past.

HERRINGBONE & CAMEL

Keeping things pretty neutral today popping up the lapels of my vintage herringbone jacket to stave off the chill over a camel-coloured merino wool roll neck and paisley pocket square

🇸🇪 ABISKO 1/3

These colder climes have got me reminiscing about a fantastic shoot in Swedish Lapland. Got to visit Abisko, one of the hotspots for viewing the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights). While I was fortunate enough to see the phenomenon in person, I was also struck by the stark landscape of Europe's last wilderness where everything appeared in black and white. An image I can best equate to those nail and thread pictures that were all the rage in the seventies. Examine the background of the pic and you'll see what I mean.
