Newborn sleep isn’t about getting everything perfect. Gentle, consistent habits can help your baby feel settled while they gradually develop their own sleep rhythm.

Here are six simple tips to remember:

🍼 Offer full daytime feeds
Helping your baby feed well during the day may reduce frequent snacking and encourage longer stretches between feeds.

☀️ Let baby enjoy natural daylight
Natural light during the day helps support your baby’s developing body clock and makes the difference between day and night easier to recognise.

😴 Watch wake windows
Most newborns stay happily awake for around 30–90 minutes before becoming tired. Looking for sleepy cues can help prevent overtiredness.

🤍 Keep bedtime simple
A calm, predictable routine—even something as simple as a feed, cuddle and sleep—can help signal that it’s time to rest.
